Lesson 4 : Friendship

Remember Mei Zuo's famous line in << Meteor Garden >> - "Isn't our friendship the strongest thing of all?" Here are some scenes and situations that answers this question for F4.

1. When F4 were appearing for the Jin Yong's computer game press conference, Jerry fell from the stage. All three of the others immediately dashed to help him and comfort him. Ken even used his hand to cover the camera, politely saying: "Sorry, can you please not film?" At the same time, all other F3 surrounded Jerry, as to not let the media get too close, not wanting the rest of the world see Jerry in such a vulnerable state.

2. Ken said once, "Without F3, I would die a very terrible death."

3. During the concert, Ken not only thanked his own parents but also F3's parents, because they gave him three such great friends.

4. During a Phoenix television interview, ZZ was asked - what was his most memorable memory since entering the showbiz. ZZ serious answered, saying that it is getting to know the three friends.

5. F4 said once that filming alone is always alot of pressure because when filming together, they share the responsibility equally.

6. When they were in Beijing and Singapore, the four slept in one room, chatting all night long.

7. During one of the interviews, ZZ kept on eating and eating, until he ate all his share of caviar. Jerry quietly pushed his plate towards ZZ, who continued to eat Jerry's share.

8. When filming <>, ZZ would get bored and play with Jerry's handphone. Jerry would happily lend it to him, "He's like our little brother. F3 always spoil ZZ."

9. ZZ said at an interview: "Even though we are doing our own stuff, it is so our strength is greater when united together."

10. On F4's Christmas Party, ZZ carefully tried to immitate Vanness' pose, whilst Jerry would carefully help him to maintain his position, afraid he would get too tired.

11. When ZZ attended the first Siemen's press conference, someone asked, "Are you nervous?." He replied, "No, because I will be going with the other three."

12. When ZZ was releasing his first album, F3 originally said they wouldn't attend the event, in the end they turned up, he was moved to the extent, he had tears in his eyes.

13. At the Hua Yu Charts presenation ceremony, there was a group of ZZ fans calling out his name but ZZ didn't hear it. Jerry did and told ZZ, who could then wave to those fans.

14. During a concert, ZZ was singing "Ai Zai Ai Ni", Jerry backstage sang, "ZZ ai ni, Zz ai ni."

15. Jerry onced said that he isn't good at communicating with people, and feels that he gets along better with animals, F3 quickly added, "poor animals..." Jerry continued to say that he hopes that his skills, talent and ability would be noticed by others and not his looks. F3 butted in, "You're not shuai, Yan Cheng Xu is not shuai at all." They all ended up laughing.

16. When Jerry attended Yu Le Bai Feng Bai to celebrate his birthday, Tao Zi asked him what his wish was and he said, "Hope everyone will support ZZ, wish that his album will have good sales."

17. When filming << Meteor Garden >>, there were rumours about Jerry and Da S, to save the awkwardness, Ken told everyone that he liked Da S, hence sparing Jerry the rumours.

18. When rumours spread about Ken, Vanness insists that Ken and him were together, diverting the attention from Ken. He quickly added, "Yes, Vanness and I went to register, we will be giving out invitations soon." Again steering away the rumour with another cold joke.

19. During F4's << Music Party >> concert, when singing << Di Yi Shi Jian >>, Vanness was so high that he threw away his microphone, Jerry shared his with Vanness.

20. ZZ was first to release an album, during the promotions, he would always remember to say to the fans the media - Please remember to support the other F3.

23. They would aways praise each other, imitate each other - no hard feelings at all.

24. They share their clothes - if they weren't close, would they want others to wear their clothes?

25. When taking photos, they always like to 'hug' each other, this is hardly the case with other groups, who like to struck their own pose in front of the camera.

26. During the concert, when Ken say Zi You, ZZ and Vanness rushed on stage to sing with him, ZZ and Ken bumped each other, whilst Vanness hugged Ken, Jerry backstage was singing along.

27. When ZZ was recieving an interview, he said that F4 was like a family - Ken is the dad, Vanness is the mum, Jerry is the older brother and he was the youngest.

28. When taking home an award, they were asked who would keep it, Ken joked, "Have a fight first, who wins who take it home." Then they laughed at the thought.

29. During a photo shoot, Vanness, ZZ and Ken's belts were all hanging and exposed, only Jerry's was neatly strapped. Ken suggested for Jerry expose his belt too, so that they were all the same - si ren yi xin (four people one heart).

30. On Entertainment Live, one report gave Vanness the mike but after much thought he didn't know what to say, so passed it to ZZ, who started his usual 'speech' that no one could understand. The other three cut him short, "Enough!" Ken even added, "Sorry, ZZ hasn't taken his medication today."

31. Jerry joked about the scenes in MG2, "DMS gets killed in a car accident. Vanness immediately adds, "Mei Zuo was driving." Ken continues, "Xi Men phoned the police." ZZ concluded: "Lei was the murderer." It seemed as if it was all planned but of course it wasn't.

32. When leaving some airport, Jerry was surrounded by fans. ZZ, Ken and Vanness were going to rescue him but because of refusal from the guards, they had to let the professionals to the job.

33. Before their concerts, F4 always gather together and call out "Jia You".

34. Fans call Jerry "Xiao Bai Tu", but says Ken calls him "Xiao Long Bao", Vanness calls him "Fruit Basket" and ZZ...calls whatever comes to mind.

35. ZZ explains that F4 means Friend4 to him.

36. During one interview, Jerry started coughing, Ken would pat him on the back and ask whether he was feeling ok.

37. When ZZ went to Malaysia, he told the media, "Without F3, I wouldn't be where I am today."

38. Also in Malaysia, ZZ was out eating and after the meal he said that when F3 come to Malaysia, he wouldn't definitely bring them there to eat, because he wants to share all good things with them.

39. When Jerry was being interviewed by Zhang Qing Fang, she saw that Jerry had a photo of F4 in his wallet. "Wow, you guys must be close!" to which Jerry replies: "Yes...indeed."

40. When Ken was asked whether Jerry was stingy, he said he was even worse, Jerry was po(2) ma(1), Ken said Vanness was even more po(2) ma(1) than Jerry. He also said that ZZ was the only one that could make Jerry laught. When they were in Singapore for the awards ceremony, Ken revealed that Jerry and him slept in one room and Vanness slept with ZZ. The next night, they swapped- ZZ and Jerry, Vanness and Ken.

41. When Jerry was in Australia for his pictorial book, ZZ missed him and was always in a bad mood.

42. During a flight to Singapore, Angie was instructing F4 about what to do and what not to say. F3 were listening carefully, only ZZ was sleeping. Angie called him a couple of times but no reply, hence she pretended to be a air hostess asking F3, "It's meal time, what would you like sir?" F3 cooperated by giving appropriate replies saying what they wanted to eat. It was then that ZZ quickly woke up, "What? Is it time to eat?" But he was not faced with an air hostess' smile but Angie's glare.

43. When the media asked them to clarify their relationship and how it is, Vanness said that when he gets old and is in hospital, he would have 3 chairs by his beside.

44. During the Concert tour, F4 were always surrounded by fans. Once, Ken was in the elevator but called out for then not to close the door because Jerry was nowhere to be seen. He searched all over the place, only when he heard that Jerry was already in the car, would he allow the door to close.

45. In Jerry's Amphibian, he wrote, "When F4 gets old, I hope that we can all unite on my farm. No matter how long F4 will alst, we will always be the best of friends. Even if we are no longer F4 in other people's eyes, we will always be F4 in each other's eyes..."

It was a long lesson! Class dismissed!
