Lesson 29 : F4 and Wealth

Since they rocketed into fame, they can be considered four money printing machines, always making money. Apparently, all the contracts they declined could have started another Comics and another F4. But how much have they pocketed? They might make quite a bit but how do they spend it?

JERRY:
F4's big brother, one word to describe his spending - SAVE. From food to clothing to everything.
- His handphone costs does not exceed NT$200. He usually leaves his phone off and only replies to those who leave messages.
- Still rides that same old motorbike of his. He got it during his modeling days, when a friend sold it to him extra cheap! They even allowed him to pay back in instalments. Doesn't really matter whether it's old or not..but is it safe?
- Accomodation - some guy at the managing company decided to rent him a place because his prior living conditions were just too terrible!
- Eating - must not be expensive. But not that he can eat much coz his stomach just won't take it.
- Drinks - has he finished the cartons of Pepsi yet?
- Clothing - doesn't wear anything expensive. Must be wearing S&K underwear too! Never seen him wear anything really new or flashy. During ABCDEF4, he was in Japan and in a clothing store. There was a item he really liked but after looking at the price tag, he put it back on the rack. He starts making faces and sticking out his tongue when the price exceeds NT$5000.
- Accessories - likes buying sunglasses. If I'm not wrong, he doesn't even wear a watch! If a watch company is looking for a spokesperon - Jerry would be perfect!
- Entertainment - likes to watch movies and DVD...that can't cost much!
- What I admire about Jerry is that he is willing to spend on those that he love. Like giving his mum big red packets during New Year. When ZZ quit school and was down, he bought a bottle of expensive wine so the three of them could comfort ZZ.

Everyone: It seems as if Jerry doesn't spend at all...that's impossible! Lilian: Umm...He does spend quite a lot in one area - medical fees! Get well soon Jerry!

KEN:
He's not a spend thrift either, likes to save but not quite the way Jerry does.
- Clothing - has a bit more clothes than Jerry. But all his stuff are quite cheap, only his LV bag is a bit expensive. His watch was given to him. But on a MyMuch interview, he said that he uses his money appropriately. For ZZ's birthday, he gave him a bag which was only NT$1000 but very good quality and useful.
- Accomodation - lives near his mother.
- Travel - used to have a motorbike but now drives...but I think it's a second hand car. Because Vanness said that Ken's driving skill isn't too flahs...bad drivers never buy expensive cars!
- Other expenditure - on CD and Gameboy games. And of course replacement of stolen camera and handphones.
- Most spent - probably the NT$100 000 massage chair he got his mum for mother's day.

But this kind of spending is rare, he even keeps his bankcards at the company...how can he buy much?

VANNESS:
Even though his family's financial conditions are quite good, he has experienced hardship, hence knows about saving.

- Clothing - very simple, S&K stuff also. Or even cheaper - wear nothing on the top half!
- Accessories - quite a lot of those, necklaces, crosses, bracelets, ring...etc. A few Prada jackets and shoes..but not much!
- Accomodation - lives in a very small place.
- What does he spend it on? Going to the gym and tickets to the US, taking Vivian out for snacks and investing in his mum's beauty salon!

ZAI ZAI:
He seems to be the 'spendthrift' relative to the other three...not that this says much!
- His second hand BMW...I'm estimating to be around NT$300 000 maximum. Then petrol is another thing.
- Computer games is another thing, I'm not sure about their costs...but I doubt they are cheap!
- Accomodation - lives with his mum.
- Clothing - all very simple. If ZZ didn't grow so fast, he could probably still fit into his high school stuff.
- Food - all the stuff he likes are quite cheap. But he likes to take others out when he receives his wage. He once spent NT$9000 on one meal...scaring Peng Peng that he never gave ZZ money directly ever again!
- Last thing would be school fees...

F4's money saving tips:
- Don't use credit cards. Last year when they were in Spain, Ken told the reporter that he was penniless. Apparently neither of the other three had money either, because they cut all their cards before departure. Can you still find young people without credit cards? Very rare!
- Long hair - no need for haircuts...saves more money!
- Tax free- from all their travel

- Being spokespeople - the more the better...if they monopolised the market - even better!
All in all, even though the four have earned themselves quite a bit of money, they have not adopted the spending habits of other artists, who like to display their wealth by buying expensive cars, mansions, clothes, opening shops and investing into stocks they have no idea about. Old F4 thirty years later - not problems!

Class dismissed!
