Lesson 34 : Last Century's F4

We have been supporting F4 for about 2 years now, but what were we doing before that? What were the four guys doing?

1999's Autumn - Ah Cheng Walks Foward:

That year was the year that Ah Xu told his brother that he would give showbiz another try. At that time, he would occasionally appear on the TV series and in a few MVs, and model in his spare time. Model Jerry, had many shoots to do, numerous brand name companies wanted a piece of his schedule...a very popular model indeed!

The Ah Cheng at that time wasn't tied down to any contract, after filming, modelling, he could just go home on his motorbike. Jiaozi Ge would often take him inside the industry to see if there are better opportunities waiting...

Da Shuai Ge:

At the end of last century, Ken was probably at the lowest point in his life. He said something happened that made him penniless and homeless. He then landed himself a job at the shao1 kao3 shop working about 16 hours a day.

He probably didn't have much hopes when facing the turn of the century. Probably just hoped that before he was recruited by the army, he would save some money for his family. Then, he somehow became the behind the scene boy of Super Sunday...

21st Century's first Autumn - Ma La and F2:

By then Hong Ming Long and Cheng Jia Bao had joined the cast for about a year already. Outside the show, Ah Cheng and Xiao Tian had become good friends...the poor brothers? Yep! Ah Cheng was still going to and from shoots, as for Xiao Tian, even though he was signed up already, there was still the problem of recruitment into the army. Neither his company nor himself knew what was lying ahead...they could only take it one step at a time.

The future for the two wasn't shining, neither of them knew what fate had instore for them. The last episode for the two in Ma La was when they went to the resort...then they did not appear in the classroom anymore. It was claimed that Bao Long went to Canada and Jia Bao went to look for him... by then it was past Valentines Day and the two had already become F4!

After that...we all know the story...but one thing hasn't changed, they are still faced with challenges and they are still as close as brothers!

HIP HOP Boy - The third season of 1999

Studying in university as a year 2 student, after class he would be answering phones at some telecommunications company, trying to save money...yep that's Vanness! He hoped to earn a ticket to Taiwan to start his musical career.
His sisters and brothers were encouraging him all the way. They realised his passion for music and wanted him to have a go! And have a go indeed...

Winter of 2000:

After quitting school, he returned to Taiwan for about a year, Stanley tried to link him up with his own connections but there was no news. Hence, he decided to participate in some TV show activity. He had a chance but before he couldn't read Chinese, he was eliminated. The US$1000 he came back with was almost gone, he he became a English teacher to earn his living allowance. No place to stay...so he shared a place with a few friends...

His musical career almost came to a stop, it seemed he made the wrong decision. He called up his mother, who comforted him and told him to take his trip as a lesson in life, wait until the year is up and then give up if he has to. When he couldn't face he world, he would pray and talk to God. Was it the plan of God? Even during the rough times, Vanness didn't give up going to the gym...and that's where Angie's friend found him! Bet he know that was coming!

Almost 3 years for Vanness to...he must have his mother to thank!

Yi Lan's High School - the large eyed 'xiao wan zi' 1999

There was a student called Zhou Yu Ming in his last year of high school, soon to face the world...no pressure. Often falling asleep in class and then eat a pile of junk food when he wakes up...
If not, he would be helping his brother fixing cars...life for him was pretty good...

Xiao Wan Zi in the 21st Century

After successfully graduating...Vic enrolled in Taipei University. If he got in then great..if no no big deal...that was his philosophy to life.

When waiting for his results to come out, he went to Taipei with his friends. One female student, who filmed a MTv before dragged him to Comics for an interview, so he went...He waited and waited...and was bored so he took out his mobile phone and started playing games ...

Angie Cai was having a headache about who to cast as Lei and some staff member was saying that there was no Lei in the whole of Taiwan...One push of the door and there he was...Lei sitting right in front of them. Perfect...MG cast was in order...well...so they thought...they never expected Vic to turn it down.

They had to do alot of talking to persuade him to take acting lessons. They were so happy...Vic was like Lei walking out of the Comic book. As for Vic...after taking so many lessons, he couldn't refuse... why not give it a try? Especially as the other three were all really nice...mostly that ABC, he was pretty humourous.

Three years passed, Zhou Yu Ming became Zai Zai...like it so far? The three brothers treating you ok? Coping well? Nothing is perfect lah...so JIA YOU!!
