It starts out in an office in a city in Japan in the year 2000.
Zi Lian (talking on the speaker phone): "So as our financial department sent me the latest financial report of Jewel Electronics, I need to support their loan application. And we'll discuss the figure later, ok."
Assistant: "Excuse me I have an urgent document, can you sign it for me?
Zi Lian: "Sure, come in."
Assistant (walking into the office): "Today you have a meeting at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. And the other department will have the information before the meeting. And don't forget to bring your passport tomorrow."
Zi Lian (handing the assistant the file): "Ok, thank you."
Zi Lian's cellphone rings.
Zi Lian: "Hey... what's up."
Gen Sha: "You're really busy?"
Zi Lian: "Mmm...yeah...um about tomorrow...we can't leave."
Gen Sha: "So about what time will you be off from work?"
Zi Lian: "Um...not sure, is there something?"
Gen Sha: "Nothing really, just that Mei Su said she wants to invite us to dinner as a farewell, can you come?"
Zi Lian (picking up a picture frame): "7:30...ok, I'll be there."
Gen Sha: "Ok, you come on your own, I'll go first."
Zi Lian: "I'll come as soon as I can."
Gen Sha: "Drive carefully."

Zi Lian (puting back the picture frame): "Bye, bye."

Zi Lian and Gen Sha arrive at the Taipei airport and meets with Zi Lian's father who came to pick them up.
Zi Lian (pushing their luggage cart): "Pa!"
Dad: "Hey! You're finally home! How are you?"
Zi Lian: "Very good...you look good too. (holding Gen Sha's hand) This is Gen Sha."
Dad: "Gen Sha? This is the first time I've seen you in person. (to Zi Lian)You really have good taste. She's a true beauty!
Gen Sha: "Thank you uncle. You look younger than I had imagined."
Dad: "Did I just hear you wrong?"
Zi Lian: "She called you uncle."
Gen Sha: "Oh I'm sorry pa...pa!"
Dad: "Now that's correct. (sigh) It's really your mother's fault that back then she didn't give birth to a girl, look! Hearing the sound of a girl saying 'pa' compared to you boys' say 'papa papa' sounds a lot better. In a person's life there has to be love for a person to be full of joy."

Zi Lin, Mom, and Gen Sha exchange looks. Then Gen Sha faints.
Now it flashes back to year 1997, 3 years ago.

Gen Sha and Mei Su are at an airport with other tourists.
Tour Guide: "Sorry, all tourist get together. Get together...get together. First there's some information I have tell everyone."
Mei Su (running up to the Tour Guide): "Tour leader, can you please help me take a picture?"
Tour Guide: "Sure, no problem."
Mei Su (running back to Gen Sha): "Thank you."
Gen Sha: "Quick, quick."
Tour Guide: "Ok, look over here. Ready, 1,2,3"
Just as the Tour Guide was going to take the picture, Zi Lin walks by, so they have to take it again.
Tour Guide: "One more time. 1,2,3"
Zi Lin comes back and stands next to Gen Sha so he's included in the picture. Then he starts to leave and Gen Sha calls out, "Hey! Hey! Mister, what do you want? Are you crazy? I'm taking a picture, can't you see?
Zi Lin: "It's ok, after you get the film developed you don't have to send me a copy.
Mei Su: "Ay, what kinda person acts like that?"
Gen Sha: "So irritating!"
Mei Su: "Ok, let's take it again."
Gen Sha: "This kinda person sickens me. Ugh...I don't want to take it anymore."
Mei Su: "Aww...come on...take it, take it."
Gen Sha: "It's driving me crazy."
But they end up taking a picture=)

Gen Sha and Mei Su are sitting and Mei Su has a book in her hand and is trying to learn some Japanese.
Gen Sha: "What are you doing? So annoying, don't practice anymore. Just use sign language and you'll be fine."
Mei Su: "Aiyo...my Japanese isn't as good as yours. (at this time Zi Lin sits behind them) I don't want to be in Japan and have the handsome men make fun of me."
Mei Su continues practicing and both of the girls don't know that Zi Lin is sitting behind them.
Gen Sha: "Ah...airplane...so big! Imagine, a big piece of iron flying in the air. Oh...how wonderful!"
Zi Lin starts laughing and the girls turns around.
Gen Sha: "It's you again."
Zi Lin: "You don't really think airplanes are made of iron do you?"
Gen Sha: "It's not made of iron, I know that."
Zi Lin: "Then what is it made of huh? Tell me what is it made of?"
Gen Sha (talking while Zi Lin keeps on saying 'Tell me'): "Why should I tell you? It's none of your business."
A young man walks up and puts his hand on Zi Lin's shoulder.
Young Man: "Hey little mischief, shouldn't you be a little more polite to ladies?"
Gen Sha (gets up and walks over to him): "Ah Tseng!"
Ah Tseng: "It's been a long time since I've seen you. The last time I saw you was in high school."
Gen Sha: "Yeah."
Ah Tseng: "You've grown your hair, you look more feminine. (Mei Su walks up next to Gen Sha) But compared to this young lady you are still a bit behind."
Gen Sha: "Oh this is my college roommate, Mei Su. This is Ah Tseng, my high school classmate."
Ah Tseng: "Hi, how are you?"
Mei Su: "Hey, good."
Zi Lin (who was listening the whole time, gets up): "Aiya, big brother, big sister all grown up and are still acting cute, how disgusting."
Mei Su and Gen Sha makes a face and then ignores him and continues to talk with Ah Tseng.
Mei Su: "So you are Ah Tseng, Gen Sha has mentioned you before."
Ah Tseng: "Really? She must have talked about my flaws."
Mei Su: "Oh no, she said that you are handsome and smart and that you were the captain of the basketball team. She also said that all the girls in the school liked you."
Gen Sha kicks Mei Su.
Ah Tseng: "Gen Sha, did you really say that?"
Gen Sha (embarrased and laughing): "No... no I didn't."
Mei Su: "And I think she liked you back then."
Ah Tseng: "Me and Gen Sha? No, no."
A lady announces that it's time to check in.
Ah Tseng: "Ok, let's go together."

Gen Sha and Mei Su are in the airplane finding their seats.
Mei Su: "Gen Sha, my seat's here."
Gen Sha: "Ay, we are not sitting together. Let me go change it."
They walk into Ah Tseng and he tells them where he's sitting, pointing to the seat right next to Mei Su's.
Mei Su: "Oh want a coincidence, I'm sitting here."
Ah Tseng: "Really?"
Mei Su: "Gen Sha, then you don't need to change it."
Gen Sha (a little dissappointed): "Oh ok then, you two sit together."
Ah Tseng (to Mei Su): "Here let me help you put your luggage up there."
Mei Su: "Thank you."
As Gen Sha walks to her seat she bumps into Zi Lin. She ignores him and sits at her seat.
Zi Lin (with a smirk on his face): "Miss, that's my seat."
Gen Sha looking annoyed gets up.
Gen Sha: "You're going to Japan alone?"
Zi Lin: "Yeah."
Gen Sha: "For what?"
Zi Lin: "My dad is in Japan."
Gen Sha: "Your dad is Japanese?"
Zi Lin: "My dad and mom are divorced so my father lives in Japan."
Gen Sha: "Oh, sorry."
Zi Lin: "It's ok. Are you going to Japan alone?"
Gen Sha: "Uh, no."
Zi Lin: "You want to find a boyfriend?"
Gen Sha: "Please..."
Zi Lin smirks and Gen Sha turns to her side and smiles too. The plane takes off and we Mei Su and Ah Tseng are chatting and they seem like they have a lot in common. Meanwhile Zi Lin is looking sick.
Gen Sha: "What's wrong?"
Zi Lin: "I feel sick...aiya..."
Gen Sha (cracking up): "Sick.."
Zi Lin: "I have a feeling like I want to...throw up."
Gen Sha: "Are you ok?"
Zi Lin (looking sick and cute at the same time!): "It's all my dad's fault, told me to come to Japan to see him instead of him coming to see me. Annoying."
Gen Sha: "Do you want some water?"
Zi Lin: "Drinking water...will make me vomit...no." (so cute when he says no^.^)
Gen Sha (tapping her right shoulder): "Then lean here. You'll feel a bit better."
Zi Lin (with another cute sick expression): "Can I?"
He slowly leans on her shoulder and looks up at her childishly (so cute!) Gen Sha smiles. Meanwhile we can hear Mei Su and Ah Tseng talking. Gen Sha lifts her head up to watch Mei Su and Ah Tseng.
Zi Lin: "Them being together is partly my fault."
Gen Sha: "You should rest and stop talking so much."
Zi Lin: "That person is really stupid...if it were I, I'd choose you, big sister."
(In Chinese you usually call a female who is older than you 'sister' so he refers to her as 'big sister')
Zi Lin's fingers starts to crawl up Gen Sha's arm...and then grabs her arm.
Gen Sha: "Hey, what are you doing?"
Zi Lin: "I want to comfort you."
Gen Sha: "Don' try and take advantage of me, I'm warning you."
Zi Lin (removing his hand): "Gen Sha is a really beautiful name."
Gen Sha: "How do you know?"
Zi Lin: "I heard them say that."
Gen Sha: "Then what's your name?"
Zi Lin (ingnoring Gen Sha's question): "The name Gen Sha is like the beautiful morning dew."
Gen Sha (cutting Zi Lin off): "I asked you what your name is."
Zi Lin: "My name is Zi Lin, I'm 18 years old on August 20th, weight is 72..."
Gen Sha (shaking Zi Lin off): "You're clear headed now? Not going to faint anymore? Hurry up and go to the restroom to wash your face. Sweating so much, really smells."
So he gets up and as he is walking to the restrooms and turns and smiles at Gen Sha who is smelling her shirt. After Zi Lin leaves Gen Sha turns to her left and giggles.

A limousine arrives at some place and the Tour Guide gets off.
Tour Guide: "Alright, come together, thank you."
Everyone gets off the bus.
Four Women (dressed in Japanese clothes and bowing): "Welcome."
Tour Guide: "We'll gather back here."
Zi Lin (walking up to Gen Sha): "Hi, thank you for helping me ask the tour guide for a ride."
Gen Sha: "No need to thank me, just felt sorry for you."
Zi Lin: "I think it's that you like little children."
Gen Sha: "Aiya yes. Hurry up and find your dad, go, go, go."
Zi Lin: "Ok, bye bye. Don't have to miss me too much."
Zi Lin starts to walk off, but turns around, walks back to Gen Sha and kisses her on the nose.
Gen Sha (wiping her nose): "What are you doing."
Zi Lin: "I've left my mark on your face, so you're mine! Don't miss me too much. Bye, bye."
Zi Lin runs off.
Gen Sha wiping her nose): "Crazy. Eww."
Mei Su (walking with Ah Tseng): "Those two are already so close."
Ah Tseng: "Gen Sha is usually always taking care of people. Hey Gen Sha."
Gen Sha: "I'm going first."
Ah Tseng: "Ok."
Mei Su: "Let's go."
Ah Tseng: "Ok, let me help you."

At the hotel...Gen Sha plops on the bed.
Mei Su: "Gen Sha, today we can do anything we want, where do you want to go?"
Gen Sha: "I don't want to go anywhere, I'm really exhausted."
Mei Su: "How about I ask Ah Tseng?" Maybe he'll have some good suggestions."
Gen Sha: "How about you and Ah Tseng go have some fun."
Mei Su: "How can I do that? We came together."
Gen Sha: "You two get along really well, I think he has feeling for you."
Mei Su: "Really?"
Gen Sha: "Ah Tseng is a good person. I'll support you because you are my good friend."
Mei Su: "But..."
Gen Sha: "But what? My Japanese is good, I'll look after myself. Don't worry, go and have a great time. Hurry up and go...go."
Mei Su: "Then I'm going...bye bye."

Zi Lin is holding a pink rose walking in front of Gen Sha's room. He moves to the right so that when she opens the door she won't see him. Meanwhile Gen Sha is sitting on a table staring off into space. Zi Lin knocks the door many times.
Gen Sha (in Japanese): "No one is here."
Zi Lin knocks the door again with a childish smile. Gen Sha, annoyed, goes and opens the door. The minute she opens the door Zi Lin stands in front of her with his rose.
Gen Sha: "What do you want?"
Zi Lin: "I see my dad everyday I'm getting sick of him. So I came here to see the beautiful big sister."
Gen Sha just closes the door and the rose gets caught.
Zi Lin: "Ay (knock, knock, knock) My rose is stuck. (knock, knock, knock) Big sister. (knock, knock, knock) My flower...
Gen Sha opens the door. Zi Lin looks at his half dead rose ever so adorably and then walks in.
Zi Lin: "What ya doing? Where's your friend?"
Gen Sha: "Went out."
Zi Lin (swinging his half dead rose): "She went out and didn't bring you along? No wonder you look so upset."
Gen Sha: "You don't need to talk anymore."
Zi Lin: "Look at your half dead face. I'll take you out to have some fun."
Gen Sha: "Who wants to go out with you?"
Zi Lin: "Ok...ok...it's up to you...you have two choices, one is to stay here all by yourself, the other is to go out with me. I'll give you ten minutes, think about it."
He throws his rose on the table and leaves. Gen Sha plays around with the rose for a moment and then goes and runs after Zi Lin.

Zi Lin and Gen Sha are walking down a street and playful little Zi Lin hides behind a building while Gen Sha doesn't notice. She turns around to find that Xi Lin isn't there. She walks a few steps forward and then turns back and Zi Lin pops out with a book. Gen Sha grabs the book and runs off with Zi Lin chasing after her. Then Gen Sha is at a vending machine and she asks Zi Lin if he has any money. He walks up to her and forces her to lean back on the vending machine. Zi Lin with a very cute smirk moves closer to Gen Sha pretending that he'll kiss her, but he actually points to the soda he wants. So tricky! Then they reach a temple kind of place and Gen Sha stops at this love wishing place. She claps her hands together and says her wish, which was to find her true love. Zi Lin childishly copies her and repeats her wish. Annoyed, Gen Sha walks off and Zi Lin runs after her saying that he was just kidding around. They pass this place with a lot of wooden notes hung on it. After Gen Sha leaves, Zi Lin hangs a little wooden note which said that he wishes to be with Gen Sha forever. They continue to have lots of fun together. They go to a Japanese restaurant to eat and played something similar to rock, paper, scissors, but like you try to direct the person to some direction and you try and go the opposite way or something like that...

It's dark and the two are right outside of Gen Sha's hotel.
Gen Sha: "Thank you. (leaning against a pole) I could care less about heartless, disloyal people."
Zi Lin: "Don't worry, I won't be like those people. I will always be by yourself."
Gen Sha (teasing): "Aiye....You are so cute. (playing with the string on Zi Lin's hoodie) If you weren't so young, I might fall in love with you."
Zi Lin: "I forgot to tell you something, don't get angry. Really, don't get mad. Actually, I'm already twenty-eight years old. Just now, I was lying to you."
Gen Sha (stands up from leaning against the pole, pushes Zi Lin away by the shoulders and laughing): You're being childish.
Zi Lin hugs the giggling Gen Sha and moves her back against the pole. She stops laughing as Zi Lin brushes her long hair back with his left hand.
Zi Lin: "Your hair is very beautiful."
Zi Lin moves a little closer, Gen Sha starts to tilt her chin up and moves her face little closer as well. They kiss passionately and Gen Sha wraps her arms around his neck.

Zi Lin and Gen Sha are in the hallway, walking back to Gen Sha's hotel room. They are playing around. She leans against her doorway on the right and Zi Lin against the other side. Gen Sha turns around to unlock her door and opens it a little, but she doesn't go in yet. She leans against the doorframe again, looking at Zi Lin.
Gen Sha: "What are you going to do tomorrow?"
Zi Lin: "Mmmm...seeing you."
Gen Sha (laughs): "Come find me tomorrow then."
Zi Lin: "Then that's that....alright...tomorrow then...(shrugs) night."
Gen Sha (turns toward her doorway): "Night."
Zi Lin gives her a small wave. Gen Sha walks inside and struggles a little to get the key out. Then she grunts and suddenly walks back out to kiss Zi Lin on the cheek. She happily runs back inside and shuts the door. Zi Lin turns around so that his back is against the wall and kinda gives a small sigh. He looks at the closed door and then checks his watch. He stands there for a second, taking another glance at the door. He knocks the door and walks to the right, leaning on the wall smiling. Gen Sha opens the door a little to take a peek and slowly walks out, looking to the left (which would be her right), where Zi Lin was standing. Zi Lin sneaks up behind her.
Zi Lin: "Wei!"
Gen Sha (turns around a little surprised, laughing): "What are you doing?"
Zi Lin: "I'm coming to get you."
Gen Sha: "Tomorrow."
Zi Lin: "Yup. (looks at his watch) Its now past twelve o'clock. Its tomorrow. You're the one who told me to get you tomorrow."
Gen Sha laughs and walks back inside kinda exasperated. Zi Lin follows and shuts the door. Gen Sha sorta smacks herself against the wall with her hand up (looking like she's surrendering) in a dark room. She turns around a leans on the wall, flirtingly as Zi Lin walks up to her. He puts his left hand on the wall and looks at her. He grabs her waist with his right hand and they kiss. Gen Sha puts her arms around his neck and they continue to kiss intimately. They put their foreheads against each other and Gen Sha giggles as Zi Lin slowly unzips her sweater, which was halfway zipped. I think he's having a little trouble.
Gen Sha: "Do you need me to help?"
She giggles and helps him unzip it. She takes its off as she kisses him. I won't go into any more detail...things get intimate. You know what I mean, I shouldn't have to explain. Its pretty obvious.

Its now morning. Gen Sha is sleeping. Zi Lin strokes her hair and pokes her cheek. They are both wearing the matching blue robes. Gen Sha smiles and turns around.
Zi Lin: "I woke you up? I want..."
Gen Sha and Zi Lin play around, suffocating each other and stuff.

Next seen, they are outside taking a walk by a river. Zi Lin hugs Gen Sha from behind and she is laughing. He picks her up and twirls her around as Gen Sha screams. Zi Lin asks a man passing by to take a picture of them. (This picture will reappear...*ahem* HINT! HINT!)

Mei Su and Gen Sha are at an outdoor cafe.
Mei Su (sounding sad/whiny): "Aiyo...I don't want to leave."
Gen Sha (teasing): "Really? What makes this place so sentimental and important?"
Mei Su: "Hey, same with you too! In fact, you have a older sister-younger brother kind of love."
Gen Sha: "What older sister- younger brother kind of love?"
Mei Su (teasingly): "oooo....can't you see you're for real?"
Gen Sha: "Its not. Return to Taiwan tomorrow! Everything will return to the way it was. Its nothing. Since children won't actually truly be in love."
Mei Su: "But it looks like he's for real to me."
Gen Sha: "Really?"
Mei Su (nods): "Mmm."
Gen Sha: "Its no use. When he returns, he's going to continue with is studies and I will look for a job. What will happen then?" Gen Sha recalls the morning that Zi Lin stayed overnight.
Zi Lin (big smile): My dad wants me to me stay for two more weeks. When I get back to Taiwan, I will definitely find you immediately."
Back to Gen Sha at the cafe, she is looking down at nothing in particular and looking sad. Then, more recollections.
Zi Lin: "Tell ya a secret. (smiles...oh, he looks ever so cute) This is my first time in love."
Returns to Gen Sha, who shrugs off her thoughts and smiles.

Back at Taiwan, Gen Sha is working at a restaurant as a waitress. She is cleaning up a table.
Male Employee (whispers): Eh, Boss... (female-in Chinese, when someone refers to their boss, they indicate the gender.) Lately, Gen Sha seems to act a little weird."
Boss: "I think she met a new boyfriend."
Gen Sha sits down at the table she is cleaning and aimlessly plays around with a chopstick rest/holder thingy (you lay your chopsticks on it so it won't touch the table).
Its the morning now and Gen Sha is sleeping. She grunts a little and turns over. A dog barks somewhere and her cell phone rings. A dog barks again and half asleep, she reaches for the cell phone on her night stand and answers it with her eyes still closed.
Gen Sha: "Wei?"
Zi Lin: "Gen Sha, where are you right now?!"
Gen Sha: "At home."
Zi Lin: "Wei?!"
Gen Sha: "Who are you?"
Zi Lin: "Gen Sha! Wei, wei...? Gen Sha! Where are you right now?"
Sleepily, she hangs up the phone and puts it back on her nightstand, closes her eyes, and rolls back on her side. Then, she slowly opens her eyes and gets up.
Gen Sha (thinking to herself): "What is wrong with me? Becoming so restless over a little devil. So useless."
Throws her head down in frustration. She gets up out of bed and walks into her bathroom, tying her hair up in a pony tail. She studies herself in the music for a second and turns on faucet.
Gen Sha (thinking to herself): "Still not over it. So what if we were really together? (splashes water on her face) He's so young. As for me, I have to figure out what to do with myself. I can't even get that straight. Why talk about true love?
Gen Sha (looking in the mirror and speaking softly): Gen Sha...forget him, forget him, forget him...
Zi Lin is holding a rose and looking around. He rings the door bell. Gen Sha is still in the bathroom. Zi Lin rings the bell some more. Gen Sha walks out putting on a zip-up sweat shirt.
Zi Lin (peers in what looks like the kitchen window, then shouts at the door): "Gen Sha! Its me!"
Gen Sha slowly walks to the door as Zi Lin knocks. She leans on it but doesn't open it.
Zi Lin (from outside the door): "Gen Sha, its me. Hurry up and open the door. (knocks again) Gen Sha!"
Gen Sha leans her forehead against the door, not knowing whether to let him in.
Zi Lin: "Just a moment ago, it was me that called you. I know you are at home. Hurry up and open the door (more knocking)."
Gen Sha turns around.
Zi Lin (knocking): "Gen Sha! Its me! Hurry up and open the door!"
Gen Sha exhales heavily and unlocks the door but keeps the chain on it.
Zi Lin: "Gen Sha, this rose is for you."
He tries to enter but Gen Sha tries to hold him back with the door.
Zi Lin (trying to get in): "My flower."
Gen Sha (struggling to keep him from going in): "Just leave. I don't have time for you."
Zi Lin (pushing in, Gen Sha trying hard to keep him back): "What are you talking about? I just got off the airplane and I came to find you. You're not happy?"
Gen Sha: "I don't have any interest in young boys."
Xin Lin bangs on the door.
Gen Sha (still trying to shut the door): "You don't have to waste any more time!"
Zi Lin: "Did you forget about the four days that we spent together?"
Gen Sha gives up and walks away from the door. She leans on a wall and takes a deep breathe.
Zi Lin (giving up too and sounding heartbroken, he steps back from the door and turns around): "So...you were just toying with me."
He looks like he's about to cry. Gen Sha is breathing heavily, trying to hold back tears.
Zi Lin (crying): "Was it a lot of fun? Playing around with a the feelings of a young guy. You really are incredible. You can spend four days with someone you don't know at all. Since you aren't serious, (sudden outburst, he turns around and bangs on the door) I can pay you!"
Gen Sha has her hand on her forehead, crying.
Zi Lin: "And in the future, (grabs his bags and leaves) I will pretend that I don't know you."
Gen Sha suddenly runs and thrusts the door open.
Gen Sha: "Zi Lin!"
Zi Lin pauses in his steps and Gen Sha runs out and pushes him.
Gen Sha (very upset): "What are you doing? What are you talking about? Are you crazy?"
She calms down a little, covering her face with her hands and breathing deeply.
Gen Sha (hugs him): "Sorry. I really afraid. You're only eighteen years old, I'm afraid that...I'm afraid that if I get too serious, I'm afraid that we won't be happy together in the future."
Zi Lin turns around and hugs her tightly.
Zi Lin: "I definitely won't allow you to be unhappy."

Now its goes to the scene of Zi Lin's house (very contemporary). Zi Lin's mother is asleep on the couch. She wakes up when she hears him come home.
Mom: "Zi Lin?"
Zi Lin: "Ma."
Mom: "How come you're home so late? I called the airport to ask and they told me there was no delay."
Zi Lin: "Nothing, I went to my friend's house to get something."
The housekeeper appears from a room behind Zi Lin.
Housekeeper: "Good your home, good your home."
Zi Lin (putting a hand on her her right cheek): "Eh! Chun Sao! (Auntie Chun) You're becoming more and more beautiful!"
Chun Sao (slaps him in the arm): "Aiyo! You know how to make me happy."
Mom (smiles): "You should've called home."
Zi Lin (smiling, looking innocent): "I forgot."

Zi Lin is at Gen Sha's house.

She puts a platter of Japanese cuisine on the table.
Zi Lin (sitting down next to Gen Sha, holding a large bowl): "But eating like this doesn't seem very exciting."
Gen Sha: "What do you want to do?"

He mixes a bunch of food into the boil.
Zi Lin (spooning some food to feed Gen Sha): "Try it."
Gen Sha (looking doubtful)
Zi Lin: "This is my specialty. How is it?"
Gen Sha (smiling and chewing): "Hmmmm....not bad."
Zi Lin: "Now I want you to feed me."
Gen Sha giggles, takes a spoon and scoops some food from the bowl to feed Xi Lin.
Zi Lin: "Mmmm...very delicious. Yeah, how come every time I go into your store and wait for you, your boss (lady) always looks at me oddly?"
Gen Sha: "Yeah, I think all bosses (ladies) will look at you will use that kind of odd look on you."
Zi Lin: "Why?"

Back at Zi Lin's house. Zi Lin's mom just got home.
Mom: "Chun Sao."

Mom (puts her purse on the counter): "I thought there would be nobody home. Did Zi Lin come home yet?"
Chun Sao: "Not yet."
Mom: "What is he up to lately? He's always not coming home for dinner."
Chun Sao: "He said that after class, he is getting tutored. Watching him, he doesn't even have time for sleep. It makes my heart ache for him. Today's students really have a lot of work. "
Chun Sao starts wiping the countertop. His mom starts to walk out of the kitchen.
Chun Sao: "Eh, madam, its almost dinner time."

Mom: "Chun Sao, has there been a girl calling the house lately, looking for Zi Lin?"
Chun Sao (closes the fridge): "No."
Mom (holds up the shirt): "Then, what's the story behind this lipstick stain?"
Chun Sao (takes the shirt and looks at it): "Lipstick stain?" (gives a small laugh) Children, always out, its hard to avoid dirtying their clothes. In a little, I'll wash it and it'll be alright."
Chun Sao hands the shirt back to Zi Lin's mom, who holds it to her chest, in deep thought.

The next scene takes place at Gen Sha's house.
Gen Sha (in front of a bookcase): "Zi Lin?"
Zi Lin: "Hmm?"
Gen Sha: "How's your homework?"
Zi Lin: "Its ok."
Zi Lin is sitting at the table, doing homework. Gen Sha sits down.
Gen Sha: "Do you actually pay attention and concentrate on your studies?"
Zi Lin (smiles and gets up, walking over to Gen Sha, putting his face real close): "Is this enough concentration?"
Gen Sha (touches his nose with her finger): "Its enough. Hurry up and get back to studying."
Zi Lin shakes his head in disagreement.
Gen Sha (puts her hands on his shoulders): "Hurry up a little."
Zi Lin whimpers a little.
Gen Sha: "Hurry up...hurry up."
Zi Lin goes back to the table and she makes kissing noises and smiles at him.

Zi Lin sneaks home, trying to close the door as quietly as he can and tiptoeing. His mother is sitting on the sofa waiting for him.
Mom: "Where have you been?"
Zi Lin: "A friends house, studying and doing homework."
Zi Lin tries to walk out of the room.
Mom: "What have you been up to lately? Everyday you don't come home until the late night hours. Each time you say you were at your friend's house studying. However, your grades are slipping so drastically. What are you really up to?"
Zi Lin looks away and doesn't answer, looking a little irritated.
Mom: "Have you met a girlfriend? I'm not objecting that you have a girlfriends, but you wasting your education. Everyday you don't home until the late night hours. That's not acceptable. I won't let you continue like this. Starting tomorrow, you must come home immediately after you are dismissed from school."
Zi Lin looks up suddenly, protesting and looking desperate.
Zi Lin: "I can't! If I don't see Gen Sha, I can't study! If you try to stop me, I will immediately leave this family!"
He walks off past his mother, who is shocked.
He goes to his room and throws his bag on his bed, letting out a heavy sigh. Then, he grabs a luggage bag, a bunch of clothing, and his books and throws them on his bed. He packs all his bags and heads out of his room. His mom is sitting on the couch. She sees him and gets up.
Mom: "Zi Lin, what are you doing?"
Zi Lin (stops): "Temporarily moving out."
Mom: "You can't!"
Zi Lin: "I told you that Gen Sha is very important to me. I can't give her up. I will find a job to support myself. I don't need you to worry about me."
He leaves and his mom is very upset. Zi Lin sends a text message to Gen Sha that says: "Gen Sha, I will be over your house a litle later."

Gen Sha is sitting at a table looking through a book and toying with her hair. Zi Lin walks in.
Gen Sha: "Ay!"
She gets up and walks over to him. He puts his luggage down and looks down at his feet.
Gen Sha: "What's wrong?"
Zi Lin leans against the wall and Gen Sha hugs him.
Gen Sha: "You don't have to go for tutoring today?"
Zi Lin (sounding depressed): "I want to come to your house and live with you."
Gen Sha: "What happened?"
Zi Lin (starts walking to the next room as Gen Sha follows behind): "Nothing, I told my mom today that I am temporarily moving out. Since I can't get things straight living at home, she probably finds me irritating."
Gen Sha: "Really?"
Zi Lin: "Yeah."
Gen Sha: "But I can't support you."
Zi Lin: "Don't worry, I will first find a job anyway and I will study hard. If that isn't sufficient, there are scholarships and stuff like that. Basically, you can't have to worry."

Gen Sha is setting up a table at the Japanese restaurant.
Boss: "Gen Sha, there is someone looking for you in the guest room."
Gen Sha looks a little confused. Zi Lin's mom is sitting at the table, looking very concerned. Gen Sha opens the sliding door and steps in.
Mom: "Sorry for the inconvenience. Are you Gen Sha? Hello."

Zi Lin had a pink rose and was standing in the doorway of her hotel room. She looks like she's struggling and another memory flashes. It is when he promised her he wouldn't allow her to be unhappy, right outside her house. Lastly, when Zi Lian introduces Zi Lin as his little brother at the airport, right before she fainted.
Zi Lian (standing by her side, softly calling her): "Gen Sha...Gen Sha...Gen Sha..."
Her eyes start to flicker and she slowly opens them.
Zi Lian (smiles and holds her hand, helping her up): "Are you feeling ok?"
Gen Sha (Zi Lian brushes her hair back): "What happened?"
Zi Lian: "Nothing. You probably were sitting on the plane for too long. You should be ok after a little bit of rest."
Gen Sha puts her hand over her forehead and makes a small whimper.
Zi Lian (softly): "What?"
Gen Sha: "Ahh..."
Zi Lian (softly): "What?"
Gen Sha (shakes her head, looking very uncomfortable): "I don't know. I..."
Zi Lian places his index finger on her lips.
Zi Lian: "Don't think about anything right now. Just rest a little."
Gen Sha nods.
Father (gets up from the sofa): "Ay, everythings ok. Nothing is wrong...(chuckles)"
Zi Lian: "Look at you, the first time you meet my mom, you scared her. (looks at his mother) Mommy was even more worried than I was. She stayed by your side the whole time.
Mom: "Same with you. You stayed by her side the whole time. You didn't even eat. I think you should go with your father to eat something. While you're at it, bring a little something to eat back here. I will take care of her."
Zi Lian (hugging Gen Sha): "I'm going to go out for a little. I'll be back quick."
Zi Lian kisses Gen Sha's forehead.
Zi Lian: "You can chat with my mom first, ok?"

Gen Sha: "You won't object this time will you?"

Gen Sha and Mei Su: "Haven't seen you in a while! I miss you!"
Mei Su: "Are you doing good?"
Gen Sha: "Good, good."
Gen Sha orders a lemonade or something like that.
Mei Su (pokes Gen Sha's cheek and inspects it): "Ay..."
Gen Sha: "What?"
Mei Su: "You don't look so good."
Gen Sha: "Really?"
Mei Su: "From Japan returning back to Taiwan, there is no time difference."
Gen Sha (plays with her hair): "Its not jet lag."
Mei Su (leans closer, a little worried): "Are you having problems getting along with his family?"

Gen Sha is holding up her head with her hand, and shake her head.
Mei Su: "I'm telling you, no matter what, you can't ever let him know. You guys just came back. If he finds out, the world will be in total chaos. Gen Sha...ay!"
Gen Sha was deep in thought.
Mei Su: "Are you still in love with Zi Lin?"
Gen Sha (a little hesitant): "Of course the one I love is Xi Lian."

Customer: "Excuse me...(looking a little shy) what time do you get off work? Can I treat you to see a movie with me?"
Zi Lin (sighs and replies rudely): "See...see what? Why don't we just go straight to the motel? What's so good about seeing a movie."
Customer is looking a little embarrassed and disgusted and walks away. The manager, Jing Jing goes behind the counter and hit him in the head with a CD.
Jing Jing: "Ay, don't always scare away the customers, ok?"
Zi Lin (irritated): "Well, then, how am I suppose to act? Its the same talk over and over again anyway."
Jing Jing: "Aiya....what's so great about the type of guys like you? Cold personality and rebellious. You just don't even want to seriously be in love for once."
Zi Lin (starts to walk away): "You're so annoying."
Jing Jing (turns around and walks towards him): "You...guys like you at turning twenty, shouldn't you just thinking about girls all the time? The type that just won't leave a girl alone?"
Zi Lin: "Tonight, I'm coming to your house."
Jing Jing (surprised): "You actually invited yourself? That's unbelievable."
Zi Lin (sighs): "Never mind then. I'll go to someone else's house."
Zi Lin is about to call someone on his cell.
Jing Jing (grabs the phone from him): "Ay! No."
Jing Jing notices someone and taps Zi Lin lightly on the shoulder and signaling someone in the back of the store. Zi Lin turns around to see who it is. Zi Lin walks up to his mother.
Mom: "Why don't you come home today?'
Zi Lin clears his throat and leans his back against the racks of CDs.
Mom: "It already been three years ago. Let bygones be bygones. I think inside Gen Sha's heart, she is suffering just the same, but there's nothing that can be done. Look at it as for Zi Lian's sake, can't you? He doesn't know anything."
Zi Lin: "A eighteen year old little child can't. A thirty seven year old bank manager can (his brother). So this is how women are."
Zi Lin is angry looks away from his mother.
Mom: "You have plenty of girlfriends. Zi Lian only has Gen Sha."
Zi Lin: "Girlfriends?! Are you talking about sex partners?"
Mom: "A child shouldn't speak like that."
Zi Lin (raising his voice): "Child? Inside your hearts, I will always just be a child. Huh, ridiculous! A woman that I've already toyed with, then goes to marry my older brother. Don't worry, I won't reveal her secret. That's all you wanted to say?"
