It's Gen Sha's first day at work. She arranges her stuff at her work desk. The phone rings and the caller asks her to attend a meeting. She enters the conference room and sees her lady boss with Zi Lin and Jing Jing. The boss introduces Gen Sha as the person in charge of planning the lessons and study materials for the language centre.....

Gen Sha: What a coincidence, Mr. Zhang is my husband's younger brother but since I haven't seen him in a while, I'm a bit stunned.

Boss: What a coincidence, then things should be easy.

So they carry on discussing the work amongst themselves.

Boss: Since you are related, communication should be easier.

Gen Sha: I will try my best.

The lady boss excuses herself and left Gen Sha, Zi Lin and Jing Jing to continue their discussion.

Zi Lin and Jing Jing are about to leave after the business discussion has ended. Standidn'tg at the door of the conference room....

Jing Jing (to Gen Sha): So our project needs your guidance. This time, it depends a lot on him. English I can but Japanese I cant. This portion Zi Lin will be totally in charge. If there aren't any problems, next discussion we will arrange by phone.

Zi Lin (to Jing Jing): I have something to say to Gen Sha.

Another day at the office. Gen Sha is standing at the reception desk. The switchboard rings. The call is for Gen Sha from Zi Lian making arrangements for 6 pm. Another phone rings. It is also for Gen Sha but from Zi Lin. He wants to come to her office at 6pm to discuss the CD project. Gen Sha agrees. She calls Zi Lian back.....

Gen Sha (twirling her hair with her fingers): Zi Lian, sorry, suddenly have to work overtime. Don't wait for me. Bye.

About 10 past 6, Gen Sha is waiting for Zi Lin. He finally rushes into her office.

Zi Lian is alone at home, wandering aimlessly. He looks at an old exercise book of Gen Sha.

Back to Gen Sha's office. She offers a packed meal to Zi Lin.....

Gen Sha: Quick, eat. After we're finished then we'll work

Zi Lin: You eat first. I want to discuss about work.

Meanwhile, Zi Lian prepares his own dinner. Eating and thumbing through the old exercise book of Gen Sha, he came upon a photo of Zi Lin and Gen Sha in Japan tucked between the pages of the book.....TIME STOOD STILL......

In Gen Sha's office, Zi Lin keeps on talking about the project. Gen Sha doesn't seem to be able to concentrate. At times she glance at Zi Lin. At one point Zi Lin senses that Gen Sha's eyes are on him. As the camera close up on Zi Lin's profile.....

Zi Lin: Don't look at me like this, I have feelings. I act quite well as your brother-in-law. I myself have grown more mature. How do you see it? I have given up, don't worry. It is true. We can eat now. Looking at this, a free Japanese takeaway meal tastes the best.

Gen Sha reaches home. Zi Lian has fallen asleep on the sofa. She removes the exercise book, touched his hand and he wakes up.....

Zi Lian: Come back lah?

Gen Sha: Sleep already?

Zi Lian: Just resting. (looks at his watch) So late already.

Gen Sha: This case is so bothersome. Zi Lin and I are going mad

Zi Lian: Zi Lin also there?

Gen Sha: I should have told him earlier.

Gen Sha (nodded her head in agreement:) I know that.

Zi Lian is driving in the heavy downpour, on his way to Gen Sha's office. Gen Sha brings a cup of coffee to Zi Lin and sits down beside him on the sofa. Zi Lin continue to talk about the work to Gen Sha but she is not listening. She leans her head back against the sofa, closes her eyes and seem to have drifted off. Seeing this Zi Lin removes the cup from her hand...

Zi Lian has arrived and is making his way through the office trying to locate Gen Sha's whereabouts. Ge sees light coming from a room. Ge hesitates, took a peep and saw Zi Lian about to kiss Gen Sha....Zi Lian withdrew quickly, stunned!! Gen Sha opened her eyes just in time

Gen Sha: Let's get back to work.

Zi Lian use his laptop to type a letter. He is requesting for a transfer back to Japan due to personal reasons.

The next day in the conference room, Zi Lin is talking to the lady boss of the language centre. Also present in the room are Gen Sha and Jing Jing.....

Boss: You all have done well, I m very satisfied. Gen Sha, I will start using this starting next month. Thanks to both of you (Zi Lin and Jing Jing).

Zi Lin: Don't mention it.

Boss: So the 2 of you continue your leisurely chat.

Jing Jing (gives Zi Lin a high 5): In order to celebrate the successful signing of this contract, tonight let me treat. Gen Sha you have helped us a lot. Will you join us? Are you waiting for your husband? Are you in a hurry to go home?

Gen Sha: Never mind, I can come. We should celebrate that our cooperation has a successful conclusion.

Jing Jing: That's nice. I know of a very nice Japanese restaurant although it is a bit far. You don't mind do you?

Zi Lian has finished his lecture.

Gen Sha excused herself to go to the restroom.

Boss (to Jing Jing): Gen Sha worked for me before. Seeing her now I m very happy.....eh? Aren't you Gen Sha's previous young lover?

Jing Jing: Young lover? Ay! I would like to see your previous immature appearance.

Zi Lin: Stop bothering!

Boss (to Zi Lin): Didn't think you will be together again. You must treat Gen Sha well because that time she suffered so much for you.

Zi Lin: Suffer? What suffering?

Boss: Your mom came to the restaurant and wanted Gen Sha to leave you

Zi Lian at home, staring at a piece of paper he hold in his hand. Gen Sha returns. He hears the sound of her high heels walking towards the bedroom. Zi Lian go in search of Gen Sha. No words were spoken. They hold each other for a long time.

Inside a bar, Zi Lin and Jing Jing are drinking. Jing Jing receives a call from her customer scolding her about work. She manages to pacify her customer.....

Jing Jing: Without you, the company will be helpless but I have no solution since you want to further your studies.

Zi Lin: Sorry about that. This time I can't help you.

Jing Jing: Forget it lah. After you have studied new skills and methods, come back and I don't have to raise your salary, then I will forgive you.

Zi Lin: That's not a problem.

Jing Jing: When are you leaving?

Gen Sha loses her composure and goes over to him. They embrace, cry and kiss for a long time. As usual it is Gen Sha who came to her senses first.

Gen Sha: Thank you for giving me the courage to live on.... thank u....goodbye.

Zi Lin (a last desperate attempt to hold on to her hand): I wont give up.....I told you before if you didn't come I will give up but now you are in front of me... that decision is yours but my decision ...for the rest of my life, I'm not going to give up. I will go for my studies and quickly complete my computer course then later I will definitely come and find you. No matter where you go I will find you....just like before.... knock on your door, bodily push your door....until you run to me and tell me the one you love the most is me.

They embrace each other tightly one last time and then she was gone.

Zi Lian is leaving. He put his luggage into the car boot. In the background Gen Sha's voice reading a letter to him.....

It was all my fault. I promised to live with you but I have hurt you. Your love is ever so openhearted. If it were not so I would not have hurt so much. No matter who I choose I won't be able to find my true freedom but please believe me, it was not because I want to be with him that I left you. I can't allow myself to hurt you anymore, can't continue to be your wife, feel your love and affection. This is my way of punishing myself.

Zi Lian's voice reading a letter....

Gen Sha, I said before there is only one person who can make me happy or unhappy and that person is you. Within this short period of time you have given me happiness. You must remember if one day you are willing to give me a lifetime of happiness please come back to my side. I will always have, in my heart, a place reserved for you.
