Vanness Wu - No Guts! No Choice!

Talking about Vanness’ charm, he can really illustrate multiplicity. But among others, he’s especially unable to discuss about certain topics, that is his body will sing; an extraordinarily amusing music indication. It can make you momentarily enter into the song’s core, breaking down and recombining as you wish. Creating a one and only Vanness style. The power that is distributed is so vibrant; it’s at the stage that it penetrates deeply into your skeleton. Dancing vivaciously in one breath often gives people the idea that it’s not finished yet after it has ended. Perhaps there will be a day that you will forget all of the details of the rhythm, but Vanness’ graceful arabesque picture will not easily be erased.

This has become a must prepare behavior for arenas – so Vanness said, "No Guts! No Choice!"

Hardships you need to some extent choose
"Guts? To me if you have no guts you won’t be able to receive strength and also won’t be able to choose your own path. It’s not making yourself prove anything, just doing it to the best to your abilities. If everything has to be compared, to prove something, it is something very painstaking. What ever you want to do, then just do it. Don’t think too much, start first and then talk about it."

Just like when you first came to Taiwan from the US to develop?
"Yep! When I came to Taiwan to develop I came alone like this. Hardships you need to some extent choose must not lack guts!" Whenever Vanness talked about things associated to guts he would smile afterwards.

Ah Hu In Midair

The reason for selecting << Star Runner >> as your first in a movie production is…?
"Because it’s an action movie. I’m not saying that I don’t like other types of movie, but I prefer to be lively. I’ve watched the previously directed << Ah Fu >> and << Hei Xia >> before. I thought they were very good, I think if everything were matched up the effect won’t be bad, so I decided to star in this movie. I want to give anything with a challenge a try.

Not knowing martial arts, did you have any difficulties when acting?
"I am very happy that I have Qian Jia Le to teach me the boxing moves. I have a tremendous acquisition and I also have other friends that portray as boxers. It was an original job for many of them. Their gaze is the gaze of a boxer, making me very into it. As for difficulties…there was a scene that left the deepest impression. I had to climb up to a very sky-scraping place. I had to stand there and perform some boxing moves. It was really irritating to be in midair!"

A moment of reminiscence

This is the first time you filmed a movie, did you have any pressure?
He shook his head and answered, "No, because I’m not trying to compare with anyone. Doing my best is good enough. I used a learning heart to do it; I will accept the crew’s opinions and follow their suggestions until everyone is satisfied. Therefore I don’t have any problems with pressure."

How do you feel working with Hong Kong actors? And how was Kim Hyun Joo’s acting?
"It actually isn’t that much different from Taiwan, still a moment full of strength. Working with Hong Kong staff members was very delightful; I passed some very happy days. Although the place we were filming at were sometimes dirty, the weather was very hot, but everyone treated me very well! It was memorable, causing me to be very touched. And Kim…she also had a lot of heart and energy. She never stops reading her lines to make herself into it.

Mature isn’t said aloud

In Zai Zai’s, Zhou Yu Min, new album he unfolds a more "F4" in time maturing flavor. Vanness has a looks at a step towards maturity in a different way.

Do you feel that you have matured since you entered this career?
"No…I don’t know…I really don’t think like this. You can put it this way; I’ve simply never matured. I believe that everything has space for progress. Currently discussing about maturity, I really don’t know what to say…?!" Vanness stopped with a very apologetic smile on his face.

I think, within Vanness’ heart there is probably no "attacking plan" concept. Once he decides he’s going to do it, he’s going to do it. He’ll do it to the best of his abilities. This is guts ba! Otherwise it’s incapable of being achieved.
