Yau (portrayed by Sammi Cheung)
A chef who hates cooking, Yau miraculously becomes a renowned speakeasy restaurant owner, all because of her mother's magic cookbooks. Haunted by a family curse, Yau is at the crossroads between her ex-boyfriend Chun Yao and her boyish assistant Ho.


Ho (portrayed by Jerry Yan)
A loyal assistant and secret admirer of Yau, Ho is determined in love, giving himself completely to the other half, and demanding the same dedication in return. Aiming at the long run, Ho always believes his simple-minded affection would be rewarded one day.


Chun Yao (portrayed by Andy Lau)
Yau's ex-boyfriend whose relationship with her ended in hilarious mishaps. A mature and career-oriented bachelor ideal for all women. With his smashing outlook, everyone perceives him as a skin-deep playboy. But all Chun Yao wants is a steady partner for life.


May (portrayed by Maggie Q)
Yau's best friend and idol, as well as a regular customer at her restaurant. She's this generation's model for girls. The men that surround her are like an endless stream of horses and carriages. She's unwilling to have a one on one relationship. Although she's with Chun Yao, but she still goes out to "prowl." She believes in compatible come, incompatible go, she dislikes draggy relationships. She thinks that loves is only one person's matter, there's no need to change for someone.


Mook (portrayed by Michael Wong)
Bar owner, after he met Kwai at the bar, they fall in love quickly.


Kwai (portrayed by Nicola Cheung)
Yau's best friend since grade school, and the only other person who knows about the family curse. Kwai is always looking after her loveless friend, playing matchmaker whenever and wherever she can, which often ended in ridiculous results.
