Mei Zuo Pian
At Ying De Mei Zuo, Xi Men and Lei were walking down a flight of stairs.....

Mei Zuo: Shan Cai is really something. She can sell cakes at the cake store. Then, appears on a magazine as a model. Later goes to Ah Si's house and becomes a maid. Even by the seaside, she can find a job. 
Lei: It doesn't matter where she is, she can depend on herself, makes me really admire her. It's just like Shan Cai, that never surrender attitude.
Xi Men: (Facing his two friends, with bandages on his face) Alright, our goal have been achieved. When Ah-Si comes you can tell him. Am going first.
Mei Zuo: You're still not talking to him? Don't be so unbending. Just forget about it. (with his left fist gently rapping Xi Men's chest).
Xi Men: Just go and tell Ah-Si, that there is finally news on Shan Cai. See if he'll bring her back. I have something to do, am going first.
Mei Zuo: (Turning to Lei) Lei, you go and tell Ah-Si, ok? (Mei Zou left to follow Xi Men)
Mei Zuo: (Catching up with Ximen and putting an arm around him) Xi Men.... Are you still angry with Ah-Si?
Xi Men: I'm an agreeable fellow, alright.....Am not that boring. 
Mei Zuo: Really? (Xi Men smiled in reply) Then it's ok.

Mei Zuo was stepping out of a black car. He was walking along a McDonald's side road and sipping his drink, when a girl bumped into him. Caught unawared, he failed to realize that he was being robbed until he reached towards his back pocket (presumably to return the change (bills) he was holding) and found his wallet missing!
Mei Zuo: (turning towards the girl) Miss, wait a second!
The girl looks back at him anxiously and then starts running. Mei Zuo scurried after her, and then bumped into another person. Seeing that the person was ok, he again started to dashed after the thief. Unfortunately for him, the girl beat the traffic light and was able to cross the street. While he had to cool his heels and wait for his chance to do the same.
Girl: (shouting from across the street, with many vehicles passing) We're already separated... Don't chase me anymore. 
Across the street, Mei Zuo looks so frustrated and angry for failing to catch up with her. Before he could cross the street, the girl took off again. Finally catching up with her, Mei Zuo found the girl hunkering over something.....
Mei Zuo: (breathing heavily and pissed off) Miss, what are you doing? Do you think that by crouching, I won't see you? (going over to the crouching girl and forcing her to face him) Miss, stand up. 
Girl: (breathing heavily and crying) Poor little doggie... 
Mei Zuo: (unbelieving and squatting in front of the thief and her black dog) Miss, you have got to be joking. 
Girl: (petting her dog) Poor little doggie...Look, so thin. It must be hungry. And it has nothing to eat. You, could you buy me a bottle of milk for the little dog to drink? Please....Please.... Please....
Mei Zuo: (incredulous) Okay. Stop crying. I'll buy you the milk. You wait for me here. Don't run off. (Stands up and left.) She still has my wallet, how am I going to...? (Turns around and backtracks. The girl was nowhere to be found. He couldn't believe he got duped by the same girl, twice!)
Left with no choice, he started to walk away. The girl, came out of hiding, with more dogs following her....
Girl: (talking and petting the dogs) I bought bread, for you guys to eat. You must be hungry.....

In a house, a girl was writing..... 
Girl Thief: I'm home.
Girl 2: Welcome back
Girl Thief: I'm home. I'm back. 
Girl 2: I have some ramen noodles here, do you want some?
Girl Thief: (nodding yes.)
Girl 2: (handing her the noodles) It's the last bowl.
Girl Thief: And you?
Girl 2: I ate already.
Girl Thief: Really? Thank you...
Girl 2: Here. Don't mention it.
Girl Thief: Ok, then I'll go ahead.... (opening the noodles)
Girl 2: Ai Sha, did you find it today?
Ai Sha (Girl Thief): No.

Ai Sha: (hesitantly) Ma Yi....Here, this is for you. (giving the Ma Yi the stolen wallet)
Ma Yi (Girl 2): You stole again. Didn't I told you not to steal again?
Ai Sha: But, we don't have any money. Although we live here now, we can barely pay the rent. And there's grocery money too. If we go on like this, Ma Yi's money will be all used up. 
Ma Yi: I know that we don't have any money. But we can't steal somebody's wallet. 
Ai Sha: If I work, then I can't look for my grandma everyday. Right?
Ma Yi: I know. But if you get caught, then what? I worry about you, don't you know that?..... Forget it, have some noodles first. 
Ai Sha: (opening the wallet) Oh.. Oh! Ma Yi! Ma Yi! Ma Yi!
Ma Yi: What? What?
Ai Sha: (excitedly) So much money. Look! (showing her a wad of bills)
Ma Yi: Something is not right. There's too much. 
Ai Sha: Also, there's so many gold cards! 
Ma Yi: Really? (getting the wallet from Ai Sha and checking it for herself)
Ai Sha: (counting the money) This is creepy. 
Ma Yi: Yeah, really....
Ai Sha: Ma Yi, I know that I was wrong. In the future, i won't steal someone else's money. 
Ma Yi: Really? Then, I'll forgive you this time. But Ai Sha, this person is so rich! (checking the money in Ai Sha's hand). So many gold credit cards. Maybe you stole from an underworld criminal.
Ai Sha: Underworld?
Ma Yi: Yeah. That's scary. It's too much. 
Ai Sha: He....
Ma Yi: What's wrong with you? He what?
Ai Sha: He didn't....He didn't look a bit like an underworld criminal. He looked like....Prince Charming...
Ma Yi: Prince Charming?

Mei Zuo: They found Shan Cai. She's coming back to school.

Mei Zuo: (drinking shake) Ah Si...

Ah Si: Stop talking nonsense.

Ai Sha chose a booth and went inside. After making her choice, she started fixing her hair and then pressed the start button and posed.... 
Mei Zuo: Surprise!!! (running in, embracing Ai Sha and generally ruining the shot)
Ai Sha: (shouting and trying to escape) Let me go!
Mei Zuo: (forcing Ai Sha to look at him by holding both her arms) Where's my wallet?
Ai Sha: I'm sorry! I'm sorry!
Mei Zuo: It's a bit late to apologize now. Return my wallet now, or I'll take you to the police station. 
Ai Sha: I beg you. I didn't steal your money on purpose. 
Mei Zuo: Don't give me that. Stop looking pitiful. I won't be fooled twice.

At the hospital.... Mei Zuo and Ai Sha were walking along the hospital corridor. Ai Sha was glancing at the patients' log on top of the nurses' station while Mei Zuo was following behind her. Ai Sha turned turning to face Mei Zuo...
Mei Zuo: What's wrong?
Ai Sha: I can't let him find out. That because of his illness, I did something I shouldn't have. (taking a glance at the log again) He would be so sad. 
Mei Zuo: Ok.
Ai Sha: Thank you.
Ai Sha continue to walk slowly towards a room with Mei Zuo following her. Turning to Mei Zuo...
Ai Sha: (gesturing to keep quiet) Don't be too noise. He needs his rest.
In the room, a man was sleeping....
Ai Sha: We came from Japan. In this world, the person most important to me, would be him. (looking at the man) 
Mei Zuo: He is?
Ai Sha: My brother.
Mei Zuo: What's his illness?
Ai Sha: Stomach cancer. (crying) He's close to death. He has been ill for a long time. The doctor said there is no hope. However, I still don't want to give up. I want to save him. His illness must be cured.
Mei Zuo: So you steal from others...

Mei Zuo: The money was a small thing. I don't really care.
Ai Sha: If you don't want me to return the money, then why do you keep on chasing me? You wanted to take me to the police station? (Mei Zou was shown writing a check).\

Ai Sha: NT$500,000?

Ai Sha on the street, running with a bucket of chicken on her arms and calling for those stray dogs...
Ai Sha: Blackie! Patches! Whitie! Come here. Come over here. Time to eat. Today, today we are feasting. Here...here (feeding the dogs). You guys don't know why you're eating so well today. It's because I met a very wonderful person. (A dog barked). Hmmm? You're asking me what's so great about him? Well.....he's very rich...very kind...and also very handsome... Don't laugh at me...
Mei Zuo was driving towards the hospital. Inside the room of Ai Sha's brother...
Mei Zuo: You're looking well today.
Brother: Excuse me, but who are you?
Mei Zuo: I visited you yesterday, but you were resting. These flowers are for you (handing over a bouquet of flowers). Your Chinese pronunciation is better than your sister's.
Brother: (confused) I'm sorry. I don't recall....Are we acquainted?
Mei Zuo: Actually, we don't know each other, but I know your sister.
Brother: You must be mistaken, I don't have a sister.
Mei Zuo: That's impossible. I came with her to visit you yesterday.

Outside.....Mei Zuo threw the flowers carelessly on the front seat of the car and could only contemplate about his situation. Meanwhile, Ai Sha is seen knocking on doors...
Ai Sha: Excuse me, but do you know this address? (showing the man the address on the card). Thank you.
That night, at Ai Sha's house....
Ai Sha: It hurts!
Ma Yi: You must endure the pain. My Taiwanese friend taught me, for heat strokes you must scrape down like this.. (scrapping Ai Sha's back).
Ai Sha: That hurts!
Ma Yi: It will get better. Still hurts?
Ai Sha: It hurts a lot.
Ma Yi: Searching for your grandma like this is not good. You still haven't found your grandma. You're going to get sick if you go on like this.
Ai Sha: But aside from this method, there is no other way.
Ma Yi: But if you can't find her, are you going back to Japan?

Ai Sha: Would that really work?

Ai Sha: (slowly standing up) You're here too? (Mei Zuo making funny faces at her). You know everything.
Mei Zuo: Are you still wondering? You must be extremely pleased. 
Ai Sha: No! Let me return the check to you (opening her bag) I didn't use the money. I didn't want it. (giving the check back) You gave it to me yourself that day.
Mei Zuo: Alright. (taking the check) So I did give it to you. What about the brother with the stomach cancer?
Ai Sha: He was asleep, so I pretended for a bit. Or I would have been in trouble. I didn't mean to trick you. I'm so sad. Just like the little doggie...so woeful.
Mei Zuo: Stop pretending. You keep treating me like an idiot. I won't be fooled again. Let's go. (grabbing Ai Sha by the arm). We're going to the police station.

Mei Zuo: (letting go of Ai Sha) Alright. Let's see what new lies you can come up with.
Ai Sha: I...I came to Taiwan by myself. Because am looking for my grandmother. 
(Flashback) 
Ai Sha: But I didn't think. Since we haven't communicated in a long time, I didn't know where she moved to. I didn't have a place to stay. I had nowhere to go. I soon ran out of money. Then, I met them and I thought I met some good people.

In a restaurant....
Girl 3: Do you want to look for a job?
Ai Sha: A job?
Girl 3: So you can earn some money. (Ai Sha nodding).
Girl 4: Here you go... This drink is for you.
Ai Sha: Thank you.
Girl 4: If you trust us, we can take you to work and earn some money.
Girl 3: Wandering the streets all by yourself, it's very dangerous.
Girl 4: That's right. A girl all alone is very dangerous.
Girl 3: Let us find work and earn some money, ok?
Ai Sha: I didn't realize that they wanted me to pick pockets. But then I didn't know what else to do. (end of flashback)

Back to the present....Ai Sha and Mei Zuo was sitting down...
Ai Sha: I came to Taiwan by myself. I didn't know how else to survive, until I met Ma Yi.
Mei Zuo: Ma Yi?
Ai Sha: Hmmm....She's an old classmate from Japan. She's been in Taiwan for eight years. I met her one day. She told me to move in with her. She told me not to do any more bad things. I'm currently living with her.
Mei Zuo: Do you have your grandmother's address or phone number?
Ai Sha: Yes. (taking something from her bag) The card that grandma gave me has her address on the back. But when I went there, she already moved. (Mei Zuo taking the card). And here is my grandma's picture (taking the picture) ei... I can't give it to you. It's important to me. I only have one picture of grandma so I can't give it to you. 
Mei Zuo: I don't want your picture. I'm going to help you find your grandmother.
Ai Sha: You can help me find grandma?
Mei Zuo: Umm hmm...
Ai Sha: Really? You're not fooling me?
Mei Zuo: Hey lady, up until now, you've been the one fooling me. It wasn't me. (Ai Sha nods in agreement) Not only that but I'm F4's Mei Zuo. If you need to find someone, I can do it. 
Ai Sha: F4? I've never heard of them.
Mei Zuo: (taking his mobile phone out) Your Mandarin is so poor, I don't blame you. (jumping down from the railing they were sitting and starts dialing the phone).
Ai Sha: What did you say?
Mei Zuo: Hello? William, it's me Mei Zuo. I need you to find someone for me. I have her picture and an old address. 
At Ai Sha's house.... Ma Yi is listening to some CDs....
Ai Sha: I'm home.
Ma Yi: Welcome home. You're finally back. I borrowed some music from my classmates. Hurry up and practice. You must try your best for the contest. 
Ai Sha: I don't think I need to enter the TV contest anymore. 
Ma Yi: Why?
Ai Sha: Hmm...because a really terrific person said that he will help me find grandma. 
Ma Yi: What person? It's not those bad people...
Ai Sha: No. It's (standing up and going to the table with Ma Yi crawling to follow her) Because of (taking the wallet of Mei Zuo out) this person. This one. (pointing to the wallet). 
Ma Yi: You...He caught you?
Ai Sha: Nope. It's (opening the wallet)

Ai Sha: (taking out the picture of both her and Mei Zuo from the wallet) dahhhnnn...
Ma Yi: So wonderful. It's great. It's wonderful. Why do you have this picture?
Ai Sha: Secret!
Ma Yi: So cute. Why a secret? Tell me!
Ai Sha: You want to know?
Ma Yi: I want to know. I want to know.

Ma Yi: (trying to get the picture from Ai Sha) Why? Tell me.
At Ying de Mei Zuo was walking when his mobile rang....
Mei Zuo: Hello? William, did you find her? She already passed away? Are you sure? She left some belongings. Alright, thanks. 

At the mall's au bon pain cafe Mei Zuo was getting some food and was contemplating the news he got from William, when Ai Sha walked in on him...
Ai Sha: F4! Well, did you find my grandmother?
Mei Zuo: When I'm alone, don't call me F4, ok?
Ai Sha: Ok. Did you find my grandma?
Mei Zuo: I haven't located her yet.
Ai Sha: (sighing) ah, hah hah....
Mei Zuo: I'll continue helping you look. 
Ai Sha: You said that F4 were impressive. What impressiveness? You lied. I should just figure out something by myself. This is for me? (holding the juice that Mei Zuo ordered) Thank you,
Mei Zuo: Do you have plans?
Ai Sha: Of course I have plans. However, I still need your help. Because you couldn't find her for me, you can't say no.

Ai Sha: I'm going on TV, for a dance contest. You, you are going to dance with me. We're going to practice together. Enter the contest together. 
Mei Zuo: Dance on television? (amused) I can't do something like that! 
Ai Sha: You can! No problem, got it? You're going to dance with me therefore, we start practice tomorrow. 
Mei Zuo: What about your every day life? You can't be a pickpocket forever. 
Ai Sha: Why do you think we are meeting at a mall coffee shop today? It's because I found a job. 
Mei Zuo: Really?

At the mall store where Ai Sha is working...
Ai Sha: Ok. Thank you. (handing over a package to the clients)

Mei Zuo: I want to pick out a gift, but I don't know what to buy. What do you think will be good?

Ai Sha: Dumb? Then, (looking for the right gift) This, this is pretty (showing off a bracelet). It's terrific! I think that she'll definitely like this. 
Mei Zuo: This? (holding the bracelet)
Ai Sha: Hmmm...
Mei Zuo: Alright, I'll buy this.
Ai Sha: Ok, thank you. 
Ai Sha was wrapping the bracelet, when Mei Zuo's mobile rang... 
Mei Zuo: Hello? What's wrong with Ah Si now? It's always the same with those two. Alright, I'll be right there. 
Ai Sha: Something came up?
Mei Zuo: Yeah, something came up. I'm going first. I'll look for you later. 
Ai Sha: Ok. Here you go. (giving the purchased bracelet)
Mei Zuo: Thank you.
Ai Sha: Thank you. (a costumer came up to Ai Sha) Should I ring up your purchases? Excuse me miss, let me sign you up for VIP membership. (the costumer signed the membership papers and put down her wallet out on top of the table. Someone swiped the wallet from the table while the owner was occupied with accomplishing the membership.)
Girl 3: Ai Sha is that really you? What? Not stealing anymore? You're now a salesperson? How much do you earn a day? (looking at Ai Sha's co-worker) You guys are very brave to use someone like this for a salesperson. What if one day, the money in the cash register doesn't add up? Or something goes missing? Then it will be your own misfortune. 
Costumer: (looking for her wallet) My wallet is missing. (looking at Ai Sha) Did you take it? 
Ai Sha: It's not me.
Costumer: You won't confess? Return it to me.
Ai Sha: Really, it's not me.
Costumer: Of course, you took it. 

At the police station, Mei Zuo was writing something on a logbook while Ai Sha was watching...
Ai Sha: (waling towards the main entrance) Didn't I already say I didn't do it. Why doesn't anyone believe me? I gave my word to Ma Yi.
Mei Zuo: (hurrying after Ai Sha) Ai Sha. 
Ai Sha: It doesn't matter what I say! Nobody will believe me! I said, I didn't steal that person's wallet. I said it. No one believed me! 
Mei Zuo: I haven't said a word. 
Ai Sha: It's because you haven't said anything. Just like everyone else. Also you have an ugly expression on your face. 
Mei Zuo: My ugly expression is because my best friend Ah Si and his girlfriend are having problems today. I've been busy all day. I haven't even eaten yet. From beginning to end, I never doubted you. I really believed you. I came especially to ask you to eat with me. I'm so hungry right now (pointing to his stomach).
Ai Sha: I'm sorry. 
Mei Zuo: Let's go eat, ok?

Ai Sha: No. We practiced for so long. I have a lot of... (mispronouncing the proper Chinese pronunciation) confidence. 
Mei Zuo: Confid...(mispronouncing the Chinese pronunciation)...
Ai Sha: Confidence (finally!) I have a lot of confidence.
Mei Zuo: Confidence!
Ai Sha: I have a lot of confidence. Right?
Mei Zuo: Right, confidence.
Ai Sha: Confidence. So I'm not. 
Mei Zuo: Ai Sha, what if... after the contest you still can't find your grandmother? What are you going to do?
Ai Sha: Ummm.... that won't happen. She'll see me for sure. She'll know that I'm looking for her. So that won't happen.

At the TV amateur dance contest....2 contestants were on the stage dancing...

Team 20 came on stage...Ah Si, Xi Men and Mei Zuo were in the audience. Mei Zuo was having a blast while the other two looked so bored. Turned out, Ai Sha is with Team 20.
Ah Si: Hey, didn't you said that you were going to compete? Well? You're not thinking about suddenly stripping? 
Mei Zuo: Who's stripping? It's chickening out at the last minute. 
Ah Si: Whatever, go up and dance.
Mei Zuo: She's dancing so well. 
Xi Men: Hey, isn't it boring for us to be here? (Mei Zuo ignored both his friends and continued dancing to the beat of the music)
Back to the stage, it turned out that Ai Sha's mom took over from Mei Zuo. Mother and daughter hugged each other after their performance.

The next day, Ai Sha's mom was putting bags inside the luggage compartment of a cab...Ma Yi and Ai Sha were hugging and saying their goodbyes...
Ma Yi: Ai Sha, when you return to Japan, don't fight with your mom anymore. 
Ai Sha: I know. (Mei Zuo arrived)
Ma Yi: You know. Being with your mother is the luckiest thing.
Ai Sha: (nodding her agreement) Thank you.
Ma Yi: I'll take your luggage over.
Mei Zuo: Your luggage...it's almost time. I'll take that for you. (getting Ai Sha's backpack)
Ai Sha: Thank you. 
Mei Zuo: Your dancing was great yesterday.
Ai Sha: Really?
Mei Zuo: I didn't know that your mother danced so well.
Ai Sha: Umm. My dancing is all inherited from my mom. 
Mei Zuo: Really?
Ai Sha: Ummm. My mom back then, back then was an expert dancer. When I return...when I return to Japan, I will think of you often. (then said something in Japanese)
Mei Zuo: What does that mean?
Ai Sha: (refuses to answer and just shake her head)

When Ai Sha got to where her mom and Ma Yi were standing...
Ma Yi: Do your best. 
Ai Sha and her mom got into the cab. Then suddenly, it stopped. Out came Ai Sha. She started running towards where Mei Zuo was, with his wallet on her hand.
Ai Sha: I'm returning this to you. (handing the wallet over and kissing Mei Zuo on the lips. Before he could come out of his stupor, Ai Sha started dashing towards the waiting cab ) I'll keep in touch, bye (to Ma Yi)
Mei Zuo having finally recovered, looked down at the returned wallet. When he opened it, everything was there. And a small memento from Ai Sha - the picture. 
The scenes where Mei Zuo and Ai Sha were rehearsing for the TV dance contest were replayed..... 
Mei Zuo was then shown sitting alone in a bar....
Waiter: You're by yourself today?
Mei Zuo: Hey, Andy, you speak Japanese, right?
Andy (waiter): That's right.
Mei Zuo: What does this mean? Nihon ni...kai te mo...anata doko no...omoi yo?
Andy: The words means, when I return to Japan, I will think of you often. Where did you hear it from?
Mei Zuo: (touched by the words Ai Sha had uttered) Oh, a friend.
