Lin Yan Shu fancies Jerry Yan :: 11-28-2004 19:25 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Posted: November 30, 2004

After Lin Yan Shu broke up with Huang Zhen, who she dated for 14 years, there hasn't been much love rumors on her. In the recent years she has placed her feeling on an idol. After watching "Meteor Garden," she fell in love with Jerry Yan. Copying fans, she attends his activities and she also plans to publish a book for Jerry.

Her ex, Huang Zhen, died from lung cancer. Lin Yan Shu didn't leave her house for many days. Her pain couldn't be covered. They have gone out for 14 years and broke up due to differences in personality. Afterwards she hasn't had many love rumors. She usually writes, reads and watches TV to pass time.

After watching "Meteor Garden" Lin Yan Shu fell in love with Jerry Yan, the actor who portrayed Dao Ming Si in the drama. Dao Ming Si's undying love for his girlfriend San Cai in particular touched Lin Yan Shu. Ever since, she has become a faithful fan of Jerry's, searching for all dramas that Jerry has starred in.

In August, Jerry released his debut album "The First Time." In the middle of the month he held several autograph sessions, meet&greet sessions, and others in Taiwan. In order to see her idol, she didn't hesitate to take a week of vacation to fly to Taiwan to chase after her idol.

During her week in Taiwan, she attended all of Jerry's promotional activities for his album such as: August 14th - preorder session and August 15th - stamping session and others. There private meet the fans session held on the evening of August 16th where the media were not allowed to participate in and only Jerry fans from all over the world but Lin Yan Shu joined it. Privately she often keeps in touch with Jerry fans to know about Jerry's whereabouts.

Earlier, Lin Yan Shu planned to personally write a book for Jerry. At the same time she contacted Jerry's management company hoping to have a face to face interview with him. But because of Jerry's tight schedule, Jerry never had the time so this interview still hasn't been done to this day.

Regarding this issue, Jerry's management company said that they only heard of this through fans. Until now, no one has really officially contacted them. Publishing a book involves copyright, etc. But they do admit that Lin Yan Shu has contacted the record company wanting to do an interview with Jerry. But it's ashamed that it didn't happen due to Jerry's busy schedule.

ZZ holds BoA's hand - very awkward: :: 11-26-2004 09:57 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Korean stars have extended their market to HK and Taiwan making lots of girls crazy over them. F4 have now made their debut in Korea in the "3 missing 1" situation. ZZ, Ken and Vanness attended the Asia Song Festival Concert press conference. Not only did hundreds of fans chase from the airport, even spent tens of thousands of dollars to specially design F4 golden name tags.

Ever since the broadcast of MG in Korea and Japan, the F4 craze started there as well. F4 represented Taiwan in yesterday's concert, and attended with Leon from HK, BoA, and many other artists. The only regret was that Jerry could not attend due to commercial committments.

F3 arrived the day before and hundreds of fans were at the airport presenting flowers and some even made gold name tags for give to F4 as memorabilia. F4's management were very surprised at the present and thought it was too expensive. They hope fans will not spend so much money.

F3 attended a press conference and it was their first time meeting BoA. Due to the language barrier, they could not communicate. F4 were asked to hold hands with other artists in the photo. The usually shy ZZ was very awkward when holding BoA's hand.

Vanness has filmed with Korean actress in Star Runner and says he is very interested in the Korean language but can only say "hello", "thankyou" etc. Ken communicated in English and revealed that he is still busy with his album. ZZ will focus on acting and the three all hope to break into the Korean market.

to Korea, Missing Jerry
Posted: November 24, 2004

One of the hottest groups in Asia, F4, is heading to Korea and will attend the Asia Song Festival Concert on the 26th at Korea's Olympic Park. They will attend with other Japanese, Korean, HK, Thailand and Vietnamese singers. They will also accept an award from the Korean President. However, Jerry due to his schedule will be filming a commercial and can not attend.

F4 are very excited about this trip and they will sing 2 songs. Upon hearing that Koreans are learning chinese, they hope to sing Meteor Rain together with the audience.

The only thing is Jerry will not attend. He desperately wants to attend and has continuously asked his company to rearrange his schedule with the commercial dealer but was unable to do so.

In addition, Jerry and Jolin's hairstyles are favouriates among fans. According to poll, 70000 fans like to have Jerry's romantic hairstyle. If this can be coupled with his electrifying eyes, no doubts girls will be falling head over heels.

Ken and a guy (assistant/broker) opened an account but the guy did all the work for it.
It's said that Ken's passport picture is really handsome.
According to vickyl's friend's mother, Ken seems healthier/stronger and more handsome than before.
When vickyl's friend's mother's co-worker saw Ken, she blushed and asked for his autograph. But because Ken got too busy, he forgot to give her his autograph.

Ken Zhu’s fans angry about his album release :: 11-18-2004 14:11 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Posted: November 19, 2004

F4’s Ken Zhu is slow in releasing his album and fans are eagerly urging, so much that they complained to the media about the record company delaying the release day time after time. This caused many overseas fans to lose money because they had to repeatedly change their flights to Taiwan. Sony Music’s Zhao You Long, who is in charge of promotions, expressed that the release day of Ken’s album will be decided on the 23rd.

After ken spent 3 years to prepare his solo album there is finally news that it’ll be released in December. According to what’s known, the president and the members of Ken’s fanclub “Tian Tang Guo Du” has been trying to find out information from Sony Music. They found out that Ken would be releasing his album on December 6th. Once the news was out many supporters spread the news to each other. They expressed that they’ll take action to support their idol. They plan on having a gathering in Taipei before his album release.

But after the news that Ken’s album release will be delayed was out, it made some fans upset. Some even complained to the media. They said that some people have already planned to take leave because Sony Music said that the release date was December 6th. Some overseas fans even bought plane tickets already. But now the date has changed and is causing inconvenience for everyone and the company would give a definite date, leaving them distressed.

Facing fans’ dissatisfaction, Zhao You Long expressed that he or she has already contacted Ken’s fanclub’s president Landy. The fanclub can understand Ken’s work is needs to be done to the best it can be and obtained consensus and will wait until the 23rd for the last meeting to be held. But the information that fans got before were incorrect, in fact Sony’s original release date was December 3rd. Currently it’s all because they want to release the best Ken so they are polishing it repeatedly.

There are many reasons for the delay. Seeking a more perfect product is absolutely one of the reasons. Ken’s first album has to be done to the most ideal state, causing the release date to be delayed. Fans have waited so long already, it wouldn’t hurt to wait a little more. If fans want to take action to show their support it’s best if they get the release date correct so they don’t lose any money.

Louis Koo, Vanness Wu, Jay Chou and Edison Chen publicize for never giving up :: 11-18-2004 13:58 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Yesterday Jay Chou, Louis Koo, Vanness Wu and Edison filmed a short clip directed by Johnny To at Bei Tan Yong. The four acted as cyclists who were last but still passed the destination point to encourage a never giving up spirit to young people.

Jay Chou, Vanness Wu, Edison Chen, Louis Koo along with over 20 extras headed for Bei Tan Yong early in the morning to film a bike race.

Passing the destination point
As seen at the scene, the four actors acted as cyclists. The content is more or less about the four participating in a bike race. Although they were behind in the middle of the race they didn’t give up. Even thought they peddled and stumbled incessantly, they still passed the finish line. They were very happy and held hands and cheered.

Vanness Wu swings on a pole
To ensure that the filming process was kept a secret there were more than 20 security guards guarding at the scene and stopping media coverage. Even though the four guys biked for 9 hours continuously, there performance was still very relaxed, especially Vanness Wu who just came back from Shaolin Temple. When he and Edison were bored, he suddenly grabbed onto a pole and swung himself around it.

According to what’s known, Johnny To invited these four to film a short clip for a soda company. The purpose is to encourage young people not to give up. Even if they meet up with difficulties or adversities they need to face them bravely and persist to the end. Even if they fall they should get back up. This clip will be broadcasted next month.

Free tickets for F4, Palmy in Seoul!! :: 11-18-2004 13:26 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Thailand’s many fans of the Taiwanese boy band F4 were delighted when their dream came true after years of waiting and the quartet of heartthrobs performed here in August.

Despite the pricey tickets, the show quickly sold out and a second was added. Still, demand remains so great that local fans are being offered another chance to see the four perform live again – and for free.

The catch is that you have to fly to South Korea to see Jerry, Ken, Vanness and Vic, where they’re playing this month’s first Asia Song Festival, along with Thailand’s very own Palmy.

F4 will be among nine acts from seven Asian countries at the festival organised by the Korea Foundation for Asian Culture Exchange.

The other performers are Hamasaki Ayumi from Japan, China’s Sun Nan and Yang Kun, Leon Lai from Hong Kong and My Tam from Vietnam and South Korea’s own BoA, Lee Hyo Lee and Tong Vfeng Xien Qi.

“It’s a free concert,” the Korean Tourism Organisation of Thailand affirms. “Anyone who plans to visit Korea at that time can ask for free tickets. Just show your airline ticket and you can looking forward to meeting and greeting the nine famous singers.”

The festival takes place on November 26 from 7pm to 9pm at Seoul’s Olympic Park. For reservations, call (02) 231 3895-6.

Cai Yue Xun slowly chooses the male leads for Taiwan’s version of “White Tower” :: 11-18-2004 13:23 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Posted: November 18, 2004

The filming of Taiwan’s version of “White Tower” is fast approaching and Director Cai Yue Xun cannot choose the two male leads. Director Cai Yue Xun is about to go crazy from being dense by the tower. He dreamt of finding Tony Leung and Jacky Cheung and wanted to change the drama’s name to “White Tower’s Impossible Mission.”

Japanese drama “White Tower” was very successful. To recreate Tang Ze Shou Ming (Cai Qian) and Jiang Kou Yang Jie’s (Li Jian) high peak acting skills, the influence is known. With Hou Wen Yong’s novel becoming Taiwan’s version of “White Tower,” Taiwan’s male actors have to sharpen up.

The two doctors in Taiwan’s version are Su Yi Hua and Qiu Qing Cheng. One is the head of the medical department, honest and warmhearted. The other is a head surgeon, coldhearted, and wants to become the department head. The two roles resembles Japan’s version of Li Jian and Cai Qian.

Early on, Cai Yue Xun’s choices for the male leads included Bao Long, Zai Zai, and Joe Zheng Yuan Chang. But at that time there was no way to coordinate. Recently there’s been news that Alec Su You Peng, Steve Ma Jing Tao, are also fighting for a role.

Steve said that he and Annie Yi Neng Jing has seen Cai Yue Xun last week. He even plans to put his heart into Taiwan next year. And Zhong Shi also held a poll on line for the two roles. Favorites include Dou Zhi Kong, Wang Yao Qing, Lan Zheng Long, Zhang Xiao Quan, Huo Jian Hua, Wen Zhao Lun and others.

With all these choices, Cai Yue Xun can’t pick. The filming date was delayed from October to November and now to December.

Cai Yue Xun said that it’s best that these two roles be acted by actors that are above 30 years old and good on the market. He really can’t think of anyone.

Especially if a young idol was to portray master Su Yi Hua then the grim Qiu Qing Cheng can’t be an old actor. They must match, plus the other two main female leads. All four roles are hard to pick. Can Steve Ma portray Qiu Qing Cheng? Cai Yue Xun expressed that it’s very problematic.

Cai Yue Xun said that the Japanese version gives him a lot of pressure. His dream group Jacky Cheung and Tony Leung. Zhong Shi suggested Leon but he knew that it was impossible. Then he though about having Louis Koo act as Su Yi Hua, but Hong Kong clearly told him that Louis Koo can’t.

"I asked MIA's representative and they said that it's not that Jerry is not good enough, but they are changing their company image for a more mature and high-class feel. such as diamonds etc.

However, Jerry looks too young for their new line of products, hence they chose Tony Liang. They are a bit hesitant but there's first time for everything.

Jacky Cheung, Guo Pin Chao Visits Sick Child
Idols Do Good in Secret

Chinese News Section

5566 didn't have time to visit, thus letting a sick child pass away full of regrets. Nevertheless, the entertainment industry still demonstrates warmth and tenderness everywhere. In order to visit a sick child, Jacky Cheung came to Taiwan especially from Hong Kong, and didn't forget to make an appointment with the child when to meet again next. Guo Pin Chao concealed his private trip to visit a sick child from his management. This kind of doing charity work in private without letting other people know makes one full of admiration.

The "Happy Wishes Foundation" especially helps aged 3 to 18 year old critically ill children fulfill their last wishes. It has helped more than 600 sick children fulfil their wishes since it was established 10 years ago and about one-fourth of them has already met their favourite artists and idols. As long as Jacky Cheung knows that a gravely ill child wants to meet him, he will definitely fly in from Hong Kong to Taiwan. From the moment he arrives at the hospital he is surrounded by hospital staff and personnel, all wanting to get his autograph. But he has always regarded being alone with the sick child as his main purpose, and he has been very low-key as much as possible. After his visits he will make an appointment for their next meeting, giving the sick child more hope and strengthen their will to survive.

ZaiZai Gives Love and Compassion Quietly

The foundation had tried to contact Zhou Yu Min (ZaiZai) before through his management agency. It was a pity that his management agency said that ZaiZai didn't have the time. But when ZaiZai - after just coming back from China - learned that a critically ill child would like to meet him, he visited the child in private..and without the management's knowledge.
Guo Pin Chao, who was very busy wrapping up the filming of "The Outsiders", also exhibited this kind of compassion in private the very next day after wrap up.

The CEO of the Foundation Yan Yong Rong said: "The Foundation has already received many help and support. We still respect the artists who cannot come, and we also understand the system of management companies. There is absolutely no blame placed on anyone."

Vanness Wu achieves at Sungshan :: 11-15-2004 20:59 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Posted: November 15, 2004

The chief monk trains him personally
Late at night a few days ago there was news that Vanness Wu was at the front doors of the Shaolin Temple early in the morning fighting with Chief Monk Shi Yan Lu's group of disciples. One can't help but think of all the brilliant scenes in numerous movies: only those who make an all-out effort to "fight" out of the doors, it's considered succeed and able to leave. Therefore reporters hoped to gather all related information on this for F4 fans. Unexpectedly, it was not until later did they discover that this "fighting" gimmick was fake. "Training" was what it really was.

At the scene: Preparing for battle
After 6am in the morning the courtyard of the Shaolin Temple was still dreary and quiet. Only the 30 followers that came from a distant place were walking around the temple bowing 3 times and doing 9 kowtows. Not long after the "fighting time" mentioned in the news—7am there was still no one in sight. Could it be that the location was temporarily changed to avoid reporters? A call was made right away to the person who knew of this. Just then they breathed a sigh of relief—the weather was really cold so it got postponed for an hour.

A quarter before 8am, children from a nearby martial arts school scattered about. Secretly, a figure that was wearing a shawl and anothe figure that was carrying something that was like a camera bag appeared over 10 meters of area. Afraid of "frightening away thieves by raising a scare," they walked slowly step by step. It was Vanness and his broker. The temple doors were shut tight as usual. Vanness borrowed the pine tree in front of him and pressed both his legs. It makes one think of the phrase "stick in a needle wherever there is room." They wore ordinary sneakers that couldn't be any more ordinary. The master indeed didn't think of himself as a star there.

At 8am, reporters followed Vanness into the temple. Walking on the long, short, slopey granite pavement seems somewhat like flying. Being the person that I am that is afraid of losing people, I had to run and guess at the same time—wow, learned the art of lightness in 10 days?

Standing on the Tripitaka Ge Xi Shou's corridor, Vanness could been seen from afar. After his broker called someone on his cell phone the two "evaporated" quickly. They were no where to be seen. Did they go through some "secret passageway" to get rid of us and was already back at the front of the temple to start the "fight?" Returning to the Tripitaka again, something like "hum hum ha hei" was heard and we were went to the monastic room to take a look. We then found out—wow, Vanness is already inside standing within the formation of 14 young monks training assiduously! At this moment Chief Monk Yan Lu came out and said, "Later, can you guys not follow to see him perform 'hui bao.' He gets nervous easily." Oh, so Vanness didn't want to be embarrassed in front of the chief monk later and took this time to prepare before the battle.

But what is "hui bao?" Wasn't there going to be a fight? Is that not going to happen anymore? Chief Monk Yan Lu explained with a smile that the custom of "fighting out of the door" hasn't been in use for a long time. One, because times have improved. Using the "stop" method to prevent disciples from becoming rebellious and harming the society has been abandoned. Two, because "to be honest, no one has ever really was able to fight their way out."

At 9:10am Chief Monk Yan Lu and Master Yan Jiang Deng, who was in charge of teaching Vanness, arrived. "Yan Lai" stood to their right and watched the monks that have been trainging for many years perform hou quan, shuang bian, san jie gun, mei qi gun, qi gong and other skills. During that time Vanness' eyes followed the performers closely. It was only when he saw a monk perform shuan bian laying flat on the floor and then jolted his butt to make his steel whip fly under his body did he smile. It was most likely because he thought this action was something like the break dancing moves he knows so well.

It was finally Vanness' turn 20 minutes later. From when he performed Shaolin tai zu chang quan until mei qi gun, altogether it was less than 5 minutes—the "climax" that everyone was awaiting ended like that. When reporters asked Chief Monk Yan Lu to evaluated his celebrity disciple with a percentage, he only said, "Yan Lai's is very intelligent and has a very high insight, he'll attain a result." Master Yan Jiang also only said, "Being able to perform like that in just 10 days is really not bad—usually people can do that at most after coming here for 2 months."

Interview: Learning martial arts acts as having persistence

After negotiating with the friend of Zhi Xiang Li from Fu Long's China Corporation, Vanness, who was going to leave Zhengzhou tomorrow, accepted an exclusive interview with us.

How did you know of "Shaoling Temple?"
When I was in elementary school I saw Jet Li's movie "Shaolin Temple." I worshiped it after I finished watching it. Even my mom would often joke—'You like it so much, why don't I just send you to a Shaolin temple?' I would then say happily, 'Ok, ok."

What caused you to go from admiration to learning it?
Master said to me that being able to go to Shaolin Temple is a type of fate, it's destined and fate can't be explained.

After learning Shaolin skills for 10 days, how is your view towards learning martial arts different from before?
I just watched Master Yan Lu and the others perform. Although it wasn't fast but you will clearly feel that if you bump into their fists you'll be given a blow. Master said a cold 3 feet of ice is not due to 3 days of cold weather.* I think I already understand. Learning martial arts should become one kind of approach to life. From now on, not only can I get rid of any things that are physically not good, I would also be in a very good mood.

*Explanation: Big nasty problems do not evolve overnight, they must have been brewing for sometime.

Will you continue to learn martial arts after leaving?
Yes, yes, definitely. Master has already taught me tai zu chang quan. Master told me that'll I'll benefit from doing it everyday for 2 hours.

When will you visit the Shaolin Temple in the future?
I'll come whenever I have the chance. I also have a very good friend that's in America who also likes martial arts a lot. He was very jealous after he heard that I came to Shaolin Temple. He called and said to me, "How could you do this? How could you go without me?" I promised him that I'll bring him next time.

Will we be seeing a work of yours soon? There hasn't been information on you for a long time!
Oh, following is movie, drama, the company will have plans. But I am currently at Shaolin Temple mainly for the purpose of learning martial arts. Business matters should be discussed now.

How will you pass this Shaolin culture and martial arts to your fans?
Actually there were some fans that followed me everyday to the temple and stand aside to watch me—I'm sure that they can clearly feel: first, martial arts is hard and you need to pay a price; second, martial arts is cultivating the heart, cultural background is needed.

FREEBIZ about Jerry Yan :: 11-15-2004 20:47 :: posted by S2f4superstar

by: NAP GUTIERREZ

I known I should have shook al the hands of all the fans."

oh well...

Transaltion:

Is it true? Jerry Yan was astonished when he founf out that fans had to buy 7 shirts to get a ticket to his recent mini-show here? He found this out when he noticed that the venue was not packed with fans.

He was informed that it was difficult to get the tickets and some fans who want to see him would really not be able to afford it. When we knew that fans had to spend more than Pesos 2000 just to get a pass, he was shocked and said "Had I known I should have shook al the hands of all the fans."

And is it true that on that same event at The Tent, a cameraman from Channel 2 was asked to leave the stage when he was shooting Jerry's autograph signing and handshake session with the fans? It is not included in the contract that they can shoot that part.

Sus! (no direct translation here. its an _expression of probably disgust by the writer)

And is it also true that many fans were fuming because they camped out of the venue two days prior to the date of the event just so they can be first in line and take the best spots inside the venue. But to their irritation, they found out that some people were already inside the venue took their spots and they didn't event have to line up out side! The fans were crying unfair to the people who let them in.

oh well...

Jerry Yan vs Jay Chou :: 11-15-2004 20:41 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Posted: November 16, 2004

It's been a year, the September 17th Perfect Concert was again held in Beijing. This time, Jay again makes an appearance but this time the concert is abit different, as there are 9 other stars, including Wilbur Pan, SHE etc. Of course, the biggest threat to Jay is Jerry. Whether it be their popularity, their singing, their ball skills, its time to put it to the test.

Album: <> v <>

Jay's album sold over 1.5 million copies and will use his new songs to lure the fans. However Jerry also released his new album after 3 years and in one week of sales, all 30 000 limited edition CDs were sold, fans demanding more stock. Moreover, Jerry's fans organised tour groups and headed to Taiwan on 13th of August to celebrate pre-order. Their energy and eagerness is obvious.

Singing: Shi Li Pai v Idol Pai

Jay has secured his position as a shi li pai singer, even though his not-so-clear lyrics give listeners a bit of headache but its his style. As for Jerry, as a 'newbie' of the music industry, his humble attitude and sincerity to all of his works and his heartfelt singing has moved hearts. He might be the dark horse and his 3 years preparation gives fans much to wait for.

Dance: Gao Shou v Imitation

Fans have already seen F4 in concert and watched Jerry dance. With a great body, Jerry's dance can make fans scream. Jerry loves to dance and likes to perform. Jay admits that dancing his not his specialty, his <> is an imitation of Bruce Lee.

Instrument: All sorts v 'Ten thousand Choir'

The two stars will try to create atmosphere. Jay will use his musical talent and play the piano, cello etc, whilst Jerry though does not havea special talent in that area but a few words of greeting can cheer up the crowd. Jerry will definitely get the whole audience into a collective singing choir.

Ball Skills: Even

If you thought that Jay and Jerry's on stage battle is not enough, then the basketball game the next day will see them battle it out on the courts. They are ball mates, even though their skills are very close, they are very modest about it. Jerry says that his skills does not compare to Jay and will definitely lose and sticks out his thumb to cheer on Jay. However, he adds: "But it also depends on the time", which obviously displays his competitive nature. Jay even though likes his basketball says that he does not give up easily.

Jay and Jerry are the superstars in the Chinese music industry. The attention is all on them but their style is very different. Jay started as a singer having released 4 albums is also making his way to the films industory. Whilst Jerry, who started his career as an actor, has waited 3 years before releasing an album. They are very alike in some respects and are great friends. They enjoy working together and the audience loves it too.

Undoubtedly, Vanness Wu, one of the hottest members of F4, is going to be the most popular one these days. With his present involvement with Martial Arts, he has been talk of the F4 fans. But not only Vanness, in fact, other 3 also who have been on the news lately, Vic Chou, Ken Zhu and Jerry Yan.

Working themselves to the bone, F4 has received every single recognition the Entertainment business has to offer.

Landed as one of the hottest teen groups in Asia today, their individual albums has become a major chartbuster on wings also. ZZ's album has earned recognition, Jerry's album has been on charts, while Ken has to reveal his soon-to-release album next month, and Vanness who's sexier album releases next year. In their respective albums, the four incorporate the liberalizing openness of alternativity with the mainstream appeal of an energetic pop and dance music.

Praise from Fuyumi Souryo (author of Mars) :: 11-11-2004 14:57 :: posted by S2f4superstar

This was featured in the newest issue of YES! magazine. Although several people have already expressed admiration for Zai's performance in Mars, this - coming from the author herself - is the best one so far. Who better to give affirmation of ZaiZai's profound and sensitive portrayal of Ling than the person who knows the character best? The one who 'created' Ling in the first place - Fuyumi Souryo.

"After watching it once, I think that it is a so much better than I previously expected. I believe that fans of the Mars (the manga) will also be extremely pleased and satisfied with it. Playing the lead character of Ling is actor Zhou Yu Min of Taiwan’s most popular band F4, and he portrayed it exceptionally well. Other actors are also very outstanding. Each character were drawn very faithfully by the actors. I’m very impressed, and I have also received this feelings."

She then proceeded to strongly recommend it to Japanese TV stations, and then requested them to broadcast Mars. (This was originally written on 10/27/2004 so it's really quite recent.)

Obtaining a heavy motorbike license for the drama series 'Mars' only on the second attempt, ZaiZai Zhou Yu Min thinks it’s very humiliating. :: 11-11-2004 14:55 :: posted by S2f4superstar

Posted: November 11, 2004

ZaiZai disclosed during this long-distance interview with us, that he already has a license for regular motorbikes, but he prepared for a month before going through the license test for heavy motorbikes. The first time he went through the test it rained. The surface of the roads were too slippery, so he wasn’t able to brake in time and the wheel of his bike stepped over the lines, and he failed as a result. It’s quite embarrassing now that he recollects it.

Mars, directed by 'Meteor Garden' director Cai Yue Xun, summarizes the story: Ling (played by Zhou Yu Min) regards bike racing as his lifelong occupation, but because of family and emotional disputes, he gradually gave up racing, until he met Qi Luo (played by Hsu Xi Yuan).

In the drama series, Zhou Yu Min has many scenes of him riding heavy bikes. He reveals that those were professional racers as his stunt double in the racing scenes. He has a number of fight scenes in the series, but it all went smoothly, suffering only slight abrasions.

His home suffers from a fire, so he gave up on his racing dreams

Zhou Yu Min says that he was planning to buy a heavy motorbike for himself after filming wrapped up. "But then the fire happened, and there’s simply no space to store the bike." But since the fire had already occurred, all he could do is think positively, and hope that his acting career will become more and more successful.

ZaiZai tackles two roles at the same time in the series. Younger twin brother 'Sheng' was only 16 when he committed suicide and died. He indicated that the role of ‘younger brother’ (Sheng) is the most difficult to portray. "Because he virtually never speaks, and a lot of his emotions are bottled up inside his heart." Asked if his disposition in real life is more like the younger or the elder twin? He said it’s a fusion of both.

Working with Da S again, Zhou Yu Min said that the rapport between them is getting better and better. He even joked that he once asked the director to arrange a kissing scene with Da S. When asked how Da S's lips felt like, he only laughed shyly, but admitted in the end that, "It's good lah!"

The screenplay arranged for a male character to have a romantic interest in him. He says he’s not gay, and will not be interested in another man in real life.

Director Cai Yue Xun also has a cameo role in the series, ZaiZai said that director Cai used to act in movies, so his acting’s not bad. "But of course the best in acting is me, Da S is second, and director Cai is third. Hahaha…"

Zhou Yu Min is currently taking up some courses related to movies and films, because next in line will be plans of making a movie. "It's a Hong Kong film, but it’s still in talks." Asked what kind of role he would most like to take on if he’s going to make a movie, he said, "A character with split personality, because it will definitely be so much fun!"

Jerry Yan's highlights :: 11-11-2004 14:39 :: posted by S2f4superstar

libre inquirer, november 9, 2004

To say that the fans screamed when they saw Jerry Yan at the Tent last Friday is an understatement.

Not only screams but hysterics! Pandemonioum.. These are Jerry YAn's fans' reaction to his most recent visit.

And here are the highlights and sidelights:

Jerry Yan arrived at the NAIA at around 11:45 am last friday and more than a thousand fans greeted him at the airport. They braved the rain just to get a glimpse of Jerry. He wore a Bench shirt and sunglasses. Before, a helipcopter brought him to his hotel, this time, a van brought him to the MAndarin Oriental in Makati. After checking in & resting a little at Suite 1836, he changed into a green Bench T-shirt with 'Merry Jerry' print and a khaki pants and immediately proceeded to the Tent at Fort Bonifacio.

The fans went crazy. They camped on the Tent's parking lot as early as Wednesday. Some slept in their cars. Thei reason: they want to be the first on line come Friday. I don't know if it's true, but fans were allowed to enter the venue on early friday morning after spending patiently waiting for two nights, they were astonished to see people inside who did not line up outside. Unfair shouted some fans. Who let these people in?

At around 3:15 pm, after a mini fashion show that tested the fan's patience, Jerry Yan appeared on stage to his shrieking fans. He sang two songs, One Meter and Gravity. It was earlier reported that he will not entertain a Q & A activity with the fans but at the last minute, he changed his mind. He answered 6 questions from his fans who were chosen from the audience. Everybody thought he will immediately leave after the Q & A, but he did not. Jerry consented to an autograph signing and handshake session with about 150 fans

All 150 who shook hands with Jerry were extremely delighted and some even cried happy tears. " His hand is so soft and his face is so perfect!", gushed a fan.

He was asked what is his favorite apparel, he answered "underwear"

Previously, Jerry does not know many English words, but this time he uttered some English words like "Are you sure?", "Sorry", "See you soon", Thank you, thank you, thank you". He has indeed learned a lot from his English tutorials in Taiwan.

The event ended at around 5 pm. He went directly back to the Mandarin Oriental where ABS-CBN staff & crew are waiting. His interviews were shown in three shows last Sunday. VJ Iya ng Myx also interviewd him. SHirly Barrido still acted as Jerry's interpreter.

After the two interviews, he returned to his suite. By the way, the suite that Jerry occupied is the largest and most expensive room at the Mandarin Oriental.

At 11:30 pm, Jerry was still awake. He ordered a late dinner consisted of vegetable soup, beef tenderloin and beef sandwich.

At 4 am, Jerry's party is getting ready for their 7 am flight. At 4:30 he left the Mandarin for NAIA where he boarded a Cathay Pacific flight to Hongkong. At 11 am the same day, he was already in Shanghai, China for more of his Asian Tour.

Jerry stayed for only almost 19 hours, but many fans were extremely happy about it. In his own litle way, he was able to share happiness and joy to thousands of his supporters

Tnx to the ff:

Vic Chou deviates from the usual idol drama to play a man with a split personality
By Ng Hui Hui

VIC Chou thinks he has a split personality, which is appropriate as the member of Taiwanese boyband F4 plays a person suffering from that condition in the idol drama, Mars.

If he were to act in a movie, he hopes to play a similar role, too.

'Maybe it's because I'm a Gemini and I have very frequent mood swings. That's why it seems easier to act in such roles,' says Chou, 23.

Mars, which is adapted from the popular Japanese comic of the same name, tells of the romance between two tortured souls.
Chou plays two characters - identical twins Ling and Sheng. While Ling is a reckless youth who loves speeding on motorbikes, Sheng is reserved and expresses himself through drawings.

Sheng commits suicide when the girl he loves has eyes only for Ling. Guilt-stricken, Ling hates his own reflection and ends up in a mental institution for two years.

He later finds new hope after meeting the introverted Qiluo (played by Barbie Hsu) in university.

'It's a bit more difficult to play the role of Sheng because he is always very moody and seems to have a lot on his mind all the time,' says Chou, who spent about a month getting a motorcycle licence, just for this show.

Chou, who normally drives a four-door sedan, passed the motorbike test on his second attempt.

This is his third time acting in a drama serial alongside Hsu. They became good friends after acting in Meteor Garden I and II.

Hsu, 28, reportedly turned down the role of Qiluo due to her busy schedule but changed her mind when she knew that Chou was the male lead.

'We're both very good friends and this makes it easier for us to get into our roles quickly, especially intimate scenes. When it's our turn to kiss, we just do it and hardly need any mental preparation,' Chou says.

Then he adds with a giggle: 'But when it's not our turn yet, we keep asking the director when it'll be our turn.'

Mars is on E City (Channel 56) every Thu and Fri at 7pm.

DINNO RADO

We have an amusing story about the subtle but still heated competition between the fans of Vic Zhou and Jerry Yan, both from F4.

As you know, Jerry is a recent repeating visitor courtesy of Bench and ABS. This is a multiple campaign and promotion for Bench as Jerry is one of the official endorsers of the clothing line. And since Jerry is already here, a concert was done at THE FORT that according to one source - a radio listener actually of our show of Ka BIlly of DZMM every Saturday at 9pm-- that to get a ticket, you have to buy seven pices of Bench products and in fairness, it's still sold out. This is a very good gauge that F4 is still that popular here in the Philippines, right? Now, not only friends of Jerry went, but also the general fans of F4 and the Vic Zhou exclusive fans, which is a group under the umbrella organization Vicpower.net Philippines, the F4 Tensed Fans Club. (Im not really sure how to translate this sentence much)

The concert was on a Friday, the next day, Saturday, another party was given by the fans of Vic in Amoranto Hall, right in the heels of the launch of Vicpower.net two weeks ago in Ortigas. This was made possible by F4 Tensed Clun. In the said party, an officer recounted on how they got to get hold of Jerry to give him a messgae, written in Chinese of course, to be handed to the handler of VIC who was with Jerry that night. The message read that they're waiting for Vic to return to the country in time for the promotion of his newest soap which was bought by GMA, MARS (or MARS GOD). We were really amused that the fans of Vic zhou made Jerry a messenger. (i dont know how to quite put it though ;p)

Bit of News again for the F4 fans. Meteor Garden 3 will no longer push through. The rumous before on the possible Meteor Garden 3 was actually God Mars which only consist of Vic Zhou as the lead opposite Meteor Garden girl Barbie Xu. The reasons for the rumour was that the producer of the F4 series are also the ones who produced MARS GOD.

China's Sina yesterday reported that Vanness had gone to Shaolin to become a disciple, with a disciple's name and thrown down his job. And, all this was actually to gain the chance of a role in Hollywood's movie with Shaolin's theme. Vanness's manager Zhi Xiang Li had confirmed that Vanness is right now in Shaolin, but it wasn't what they had reported, it wasn't to gain a role in Hollywood's movie and his name wasn't Yan Lai.

Zhi Xiang Li said, "Vanness and I area already in Shaolin for around 20 days. Shaolin have seldom take in disciples in the past, they broke their limts and have taken in Vanness. Thus, he cherishes this opportunity." And, Vanness going uphill were matched with the times of him breaking up with his rumoured girlfriend, Vivian Hsu was he up there to liao4 shang1? Zhi Xiang Li emphasised that he was there only to learn martial arts, but to the reason why they are there, he cannot reveal. He laughed and said, "Fa3 Bai4, i can't tell. Vanness have always been interested in kung-fu, and kung-fu comes from SHaolin, of course he has to train well."

Vanness is a Christian, isn't he creating a sin by becoming a Shaolin disciple ? Zhi Xiang Li said, "Most outsiders have some misunderstandings against this disciple thingy, it's not affecting Vanness's original belief." However, as a disciple, Vanness need not go vegetarian. Right now, it's not known when he would leave, but it's confirmed that he would be involved in a performance in movie, Meng Long De Jin Tui.
